Any other new players get screwed without the rune sale this time?

I started playing right after the previous rune sale and needed this rune sale to catch up to friends etc. Anyone one else get screwed by this too? I dont have tons of IP looking for a sink like others I've talked to and time-wise I'm unlikely to have that problem anytime soon.

I've already cut down my game time significantly anyway because of real life anyway but I had barely enough ready to go before that happened so worse to worse come I can probably chill till the next one mid-season or so?
