Shouldn't Nocturne's Ult should have a shorter CD in the early levels?

First off I'd like to say I love Nocturne.

The spooky ghost has always been one of my favorite junglers to play, but I find the change in other junglers through a meta perspective has really left him in the shadow (hehe) of other junglers that do his job better.

Take for an example is unique defining ability "Paranoia" - at level 1 it has a 2000 Range, 150 Physical Damage (+120% AD), and a whopping 180 second CD. Compare that to another gap closer jungler ult like Vi's "Assault and Battery" at level 1 has 800 range, 200 Physical Damage (+140% AD), and a 150 second CD.

Vi's ult has more utility, and damage with less cool down. Yes, Vi's ult does have less range, but with her fully charged Q into her R it's very comparable to range of a level 1 Nocturne ult.

Overall I find Nocturne's ult early game very lackluster. With such a high Cool down it makes me want to savoir it and use it less. Where Vi on the other hand I want to use every time it comes up, the sooner the better. That doesn't feel like good game play to me as a nocturne player perspective.

In the meta I do find Nocturne and Vi fit similar roles, but not exact. That is why I used the comparison.

I also didn't take in the global blind Nocturne's ult gives the enemy team. But I don't see that justifying a 30 second more CD, especially since Vi's ult is stronger, stuns, and can damage multiple enemies which Nocturne's can't.

I have been playing League for several years now, I do consider myself experienced but sometimes I can completely be out to lunch on certain balancing choices as I find a lot of people are.

TL:DR I would love to know the reasoning behind Nocturne's high level 1 ult CD.

Yes. It deserves lower or no mana cost and a MUCH shorter cooldown, and probably revert the early rank range nerf.

I think removing the early range nerf and keeping the CD as is would be very comparable. I always find myself checking the range of my ult early levels to reach a lane for a gank.

Then sorry, but you're a moron. It's not a global Blind, those negate Auto Attacks.

It's a GLOBAL VISION REDUCTION. It takes away the enemy team's share vision, their wards stop working, and their personal vision ranges are severely reduced for the duration. IT'S A GLOBAL FUCKING ULTIMATE AND THOSE ALL HAVE LONG COOLDOWNS, except for the ones that can miss (ala Ashe, Jinx, Ez, and Draven).

Half of the game itself is ensuring you have the vision you want, whether on paths or of your enemies' movements. For 4 seconds you NEGATE ALL OF THEIR WORK IN THAT REGARD. If a Support champion had Paranoia, it would only do the vision reduction. Nocturne gets a targeted gap closer from a couple screens away, with damage.

I'm not saying Nocturne is in a great spot. But you specifically ignored the ability's unique aspect.

When I mean't blind I did mean vision reduction. I forgot that blind was a status that you can inflict onto champions with certain skills, but in my case paranoia does "blind" in the sense of removing vision control.

Also I didn't ignore it. I stated right here, "I also didn't take in the global blind Nocturne's ult gives the enemy team. But I don't see that justifying a 30 second more CD"

I personally don't think that global vision reduction justifies the high CD cost at low levels. 180 seconds is insane to say the least.

Maybe trying to insult less and be more mature about the matter might be a better way to go about things as well. Also add something to the conversation instead of stating what the ability does.

You still don't understand it. Nocturne's R is an insane utility power. It's a free dragon. It's a free gank. It's a 'save my bot lane from a gank while I'm in top doing the same'.

It's like asking for Ryze's Rune Prison to do as much damage as Nidalee's Javelin Toss, but not taking into account that it is a point-click root. His is a catch-them-and-fry-em', and hers is a hit-and-hunt chase tool (that just so happens to be a stupid good way of picking people off).

Paranoia and Assault and Battery are two very different powers that just happen to work similar. You scoffed at the utility and use cases they had available, and that's why I scoffed at your request. Paranoia COULD use a cooldown reduction, but your reasoning behind it was flawed.

It's really not worth as much as you make it out to be. It generally just ends up preventing their top from tping in to countergank, because blowing the CD try and sneak a dragon or get a laner out of a gank is a colossal waste.
