Yorick nerfs killing high elo gameplay

What's going on Riot? I see that Yorick's been stomping low ELO, but that's just a huge straight up nerf. Ghoul's damage increase right now is 2,3,4,5,6,7,8. What is this counting with Yorick? Bruh, I'd understand like a ghoul size increase for him but that's a nerf to a champ not good at high ELO right now. Garen, the guy that's been CONQUERING low ELO gets a measly 20 damage nerf, while Yorick, who wasn't even that great at the start get's a massive early game nerf. Please revert him, or make the nerf slightly less impacting. Thank you for spending your time to read this.

i honestly believe they just hate yorick never put him in free week rotation pre rework left him in the gutter till said rework then took them like forever to get him a skin and they nerf him for low elo lmao

I just don't get the logic "People who properly counter the ghouls barely take damage. People who don't take a lot. So we'll just nerf the ghouls so bad players get babied and good players have an even easier time dealing with him.

Think they mean more along the lines of champions that are good/bad dealing with the ghouls

What Eedat says is correct. In higher Elo, players understand how to deal with the ghouls. How much damage they do doesn't matter since they aren't that concerned about the ghouls dealing damage, since they know how to kill them. Lower Elo don't, and so they are adversely affected more by the ghouls damage than higher elo.

Therefore, it's a nerf that affects lower elo more, since they're more likely to be taking tons of damage from the ghouls than higher elo.

On the bright side it doesn't seem to have impacted us too much, but numerically that's a ton of damage lost for levels 4-6 where every bit counts.

The level 6 especially is dirty af, totaling a 48 damage decrease per wave of autos from ghouls.

Honestly, I don't know what people are talking about. Is it really a nerf?

I played Yorick 4 games yesterday, all wins, and I carried all of them. And I actually felt like yorick is stronger now.

it's a nerf yes

you lose six time 2 AD and gain 11 times 1 AD, so 1 AD less level 18 (x 4 if pack of ghoul is considered)

Don't forget that the nerf specifically targets his early to mid game power spike. Right around triforce time if he's doing well.

I don't think they should revert him unless you want a repeat of what happened pre-VGU.

What I do think is that Riot should let my favourite character be playable instead of nerfing him the moment he sees play. (First steraks, now this.)

Granted, I'll probably still play him but man, I think I just want to go back to playing Final Fantasy 14 all day if rito's gonna keep doing me like this.

EDIT: I can't find it, but I swear to god, I remember Riot saying in a patch notes comment section they were looking to BUFF his ghouls after the Sterak's nerf because the "compensations" they gave him weren't doing anything helpful.

(given that all they gave him was a shitty - 1 second CD on his Q at max level, and a QoL change that made his ghouls and maiden update their stats with Yorick which should have been there day 1, I'm not sure why they were expecting that to cover the good amount of damage he lost when Sterak's gave bonus AD and not base.)

You really feel the impact when your laning vs tanky champs.

Like... Farming Qs is risky. Yorick is 100% vulnerable while stacking graves. Also after you take the time to get them in order to use them you have to land 2 skill shots to get the most out of them.

I don't understand why riot thinks after all that set up ghouls should deal hardly any damage early lvls.

Yorick is useless now. Prenerf you play safe against lane bullies like darius and you can fight them at level 6. You need to wait longer til 8 assuming you dont lose too many cs and exp while being bullied. Champion like irelia can just go all in at any level on yorick and always wins.

Yorick suffers from an abysmal playrate and a complete lack of attention from Riot. He rarely gets skins despite having a design that could offer many different types of skins to choose from. A nerf will make him unplayable everywhere. Some champions get to dominate the meta for months, but Yorick gets nerfed just for being a little strong against low elo top laners that can't play around his kit.

Yorick just isn’t popular enough to be allowed to be strong it seems. He’s always nerfed the second he becomes slightly common.

Nerf was undeserved.

Yorick has windows of power, if you don't have 3 graves or ult readily available your not that strong. I feel like he deserves a buffed passive on his free graves, cus at low level that shit is garbage -- one of the worst passives in game.

But this is Riot we're talking about here, they don't know what they're doing.
