Why can't we outclude a role while filling, after support became more popular role?

Most of the games I play - at least in EUW - I end up getting Top/Jgl or Adc while filling - I'm fine by top and jgl - but absolute garbage as adc compared to other roles (mid - cos of lack of practice I feel my skill level isn't matching my rank either). Makes me wonder as at least in silver/gold/plat I haven't seen trouble finding supports after the item changes, new exciting champs like pyke and other stuff - why changes in fill aren't tried again? [sg-zephyr]

For me most ideal situation would be picking 3 roles I equally prefer - to not get bored of playing same stuff all over again - But I know that's too much, so being able to drop out at least one role - I'd be a happy Fizz . (I can handle the strike of 'luck' getting mid once in 100 games.) Or is it really that I play on such weird hours when sleepy people just want to chill on support? Trust me - it's after mid second least given role for me.

Also if needed - wouldn't autofill still stay there. It's not like those people who WILL NEVER touch support would pick fill anyway.

Hmm.. so yea tl;rd supp more popular now, can't choose role to prefer - suck as adc - let me exclude it to not ruin games. (Sorry if my English confuses you, as a Finn it's not my first language summoner 31 )

Honestly, if someone is putting Fill primary, I see no reason why they can't decide to exclude a position. Worse case scenario they get auto filled into that position anyway if things are bad enough, but it would provide the "almost random" that Fill is in Blind Pick.

Yeah, and at least in ranked it truly sucks if you have one position you're by far lower ranked on - to not at least try your luck excluding. (For normals, it might be harder to find supports.) I know I might get hate for filling in ranked, but I like to let ppl have their strongest roles as long as I get something I'm fairly comfortable at. ^^

It could resolve a lot if there would be a menu that reflected the roles primarily played and roles that require more players, people could select those rolls and it would make queues faster.summoner 6 summoner 6 summoner 6 summoner 6 summoner 6 summoner 6 Sivir

I agrea they should allow to exclute one position when they take fill primary. This would also be very health for the system. Since players are now willingly to play 4 roles rather than just 2.

Also sucks to learn.

Since you're in that role they expect you to roam and have successful ganks everywhere. Dude, your opponent has the wave frozen 3 teemos away from turret range and has a slight minion advantage, not gonna happen.

At least if you're learning mid you usually won't be flamed for not ganking as long as your opponent also doesn't roam.

I'd simply rather you tell the game how much you want to play every role. Instead of primary/secondary you just get a line of all 5 and put them in order or preference

Isn't the entire point of fill that you are willing to play anything? I feel like this defeats the purpose, and you're better off just choosing your two preferred roles.

Positional match making at least makes sure we play with similar skills across our roles even if there is a large gap in skill. It’s been fairly effective for me and does help get your off roles stronger.

jg gap is real and autofill is the cause of it

but yeah a lot of people straight up don't communicate whenever they're filled to a role they cannot or don't play and then just silently solo lose the game, would be nice if there was an option in which people get the role less frequently or at least automatically notifies teammates when someone's autofilled

Personally, I'd really rather not play either of the bot lane roles while I'm not in a premade... I hate playing support or bot if I don't have communication with the other person. It's especially bad when I'm in a 3-man premade, and my teammates have their roles set up with Top/Mid and Mid/Jungle (or any combination of the 3 really), so then I'm forced to have either support or bot in my secondary role when those are my weakest roles when the other person is a random... (and it also happens to be my premade's worst roles for the same reason)

Therefore, like some others have said: Personally, I would prefer a system where we select all 5 roles in order of preference, instead of the current primary/secondary system.

i have an idea to accent this concept. riot should show you your role before you confirm you are ready. add a "wait for another role" button . so people have the option to wait for a game in which they get the role they want.
