Anivia - her recent E and R change

I don't think this nerf was particularly well thought out really. Hard code the game so you can't get E to benefit from a buff that was not active when it was thrown. Like, I have to wait a literal second and a half after my ult is placed to E something with anivia? REALLY? The hell am I supposed to do about divers if my Q is down? Not miss my q? Not try and harrass? Already lost a ton of harrass with my ER being gone without RE being gone as well. Like, that's nearly 10 years of muscle memory I have to fight now when I want to play Anivia and she honestly was the biggest reason why I ever played the game. She's hardly a threat to anyone who can stay at max range and pick off creeps as it is. Like, Anivia was supposed to be a glass cannon. Now she's a glass cannon who can't even properly deal with people who jump on her if the Q is down. Which means, don't Q unless they jump on you. I don't see how this was supposed to grow gameplay.

I hate the buff too.

It does give her a higher skillcap though.

I mean, not really. All you do is wait.

And predict, and respect enemy champion's threat ranges rather than being more threatening than pretty much anyone else in the game from 600 range.

Kinda does, You can't just RE walk away. You have to stay in the danger zone longer and make better use of your Wall.

What do you mean her and R-E combo is gone? I've noticed the differences in damage in my combos and it tilted me during an Aram game that my R-E combo was doing jack squat to a vel koz with no magic resist.

I'm a Anivia main, but I havn't found the patch notes saying that it was nerfed.

R has to be fully formed to get extra E damage

around 6.22-6.23

Which takes a LITERAL second and a half. That's a rather long time for a team fight where you may have to move your R somewhere, even with the fast form time.

yes but E is not Anivia's only ability. Good R placement is required now, rather than just something that could be ignored with the right playstyle

I like that her late game scaling makes her relevant. she is very good at post 6 farming even if you lost lane. But it just makes her laning phase even more awful because it makes her lv 6 power spike even more tricky to pull off.

I knew the ult had to be fully formed for bonus E damage, but I didn't realize the E couldn't be casted until that point. (I enjoy Anivia mid, but i don't lane mid often) Thats pretty dumb.

E can be casted at any time. It used to deal extra damage without the ult being fully formed, that's the nerf.

She was always supppose to be weak to people who dive her. That's what you get with a AOE ult, great waveclear, a bunch of slows, a stun, and a revive passive. She needs some weakness.

You realize "glass cannon who can't deal with people who jump on them" is common right? That is one of the biggest risks with most glass cannon builds. Hence why you have frontline tanks and people to peel for you.

I'm not saying she shouldn't have a weakness I'm saying they didn't need to tune it further in that direction. I mean, tell me the glass cannons who can't deal with people who jump on them consistantly because I'd love to know who they are, and are in the meta. Because all the ones I can think of have better control stuns and or combat tricks to get out of the way, or just more consistant damage. Anivia moves slower or on par with literally every hero unless something happened I missed. She already HAD weaknesses and if she didn't she'd have seen more abuse in pro play.

TeCoolMage1 votes

It's not even her weakness. She's meant to be undiveable with a strong backline due to her point blank CC and zoning. Her weakness is poke and mobility (regardless of whether they actually engage with it or not)

They are fixing anivia's ultimate bugs, so I think we will be able to get our E extra damage in now after this patch is implimented
