Getting lower LP by winning

I've been playing some ranked the past days, but i have noticed if i get a win streak my LP gain is getting lower, like today i won 3 games in a row, i got 21 LP then 19 and now 18... What causes it?

The baords will tell you something about "MMR" and how you're winning too much and the system, rather than rewarding your wins with increases in rank, is trying to force you back down into the elo you "belong" in.
