Direction With Rylais

After the Rylais nerfs its pretty unclear what direction Riot wants to go in. I completely agree that the item was too gold efficient with a really good passive and as a result was built on almost every mid laner. I am curious though what the aim is in changing the item. In my opinion the utility is really what makes the item impactful and the 20% slow really makes it underwhelming. It currently places the slow at the slowest in the game and does not scale well into late game because of its weak stats. Considering the slow is what makes the item really satisfying to buy, what about making the slow originally 20% for 2 seconds that can stack all the way up to 40% if more spells are used. This way champions that rely on slows and can utilize it well with their kit can stack up slows can use the item more effectively.

I think it's going to become a little less of an AP mid item and a little more of a support item.

I think you could be right - but I doubt it. Unfortunately, the slow ability is so weak and the health/armour situation on the item is so bad, that it's not really worth it for a squishy under-leveled support to use.

While that is a good point, the stats are good for a support and the cost is manageable for one.

the black cleaver of slows?

i like rylai's being cheaper now though. even if it's not as good.
