Ok Riot. What is this?

2/27 PBE Update

Those Naut changes... Why? Why are we hurting someone who already has a horrible early game, with more early game problems?

I usually see why/how you do your balance as far as keeping an open mind, but this? This is ridiculous!

As a nautilus main, i am quite fine with these changes. Riot is making naut way less reliant on his W, and that is a good thing. Now you are able to max your e first mostly because of the decreased cooldown and you may be able to have an actually faster cleartime. You'll only need the shield lategame when you have enough hp to make it actually useful. I understand the nerf because you have to compensate for the insane cooldown and mana cost buffs on his e.

They aren't as bad as they seem, although if you continue to max W first they will certainly seem that way. E got huge buffs. Overall the damage decreases aren't that big, especially since you basically rush Sunfire as your jungle item now.

The changes are (minus the shield nerf which is pretty weird; hopefully we get some context on this) nearly straight buffs, bear in mind im not a Nautilus player so I have NO idea if he builds any AP, but if he doesn't the AP ratio nerf won't mean a thing to him (notice, E's base damage wasn't hit at all; and its cooldown was nearly halved even at rank 1 as well as a lower mana cost, surely that will help his clear speed)

He is keeping his E base damage intact while the cooldown goes from 10 to 6-4. It may be compensation enough who knows.

Hopefully it's an overall buff. That cool down hit on E is pretty significant. Now it's not like he's useless if shield dies.

Ok... I see where they are coming from. Thanks for the explanation guys.

Nautilus is getting the biggest buffs i have ever seen - it is a lot more reliable damage and a lot more slows with a cooldown be less than half the cooldown it is now- the buffs will have naut been seen gameplay
