Ranked Promotions Issue

How are you suppose to win ranked promotion games when you end up with a bunch of unranked noobs against a team who rank completely out balances yours. I am not trying to blow steam but unranked players who are in their starting promotions should not be placed with people who are in their promotions for advancement. You are essentially chopping off a leg for the rest of the players. I just played my last promotion game and i had 2 unranked players on my team and a bronze 1 when i am playing for silver 1. The other team had 2 gold players one of which was gold 3 and the other was gold 5, 2 silver players and 1 unranked. how the f is this balanced at all. The final score of the game showed every thing. i was 15/8/1 while the rest of my team was 1/12/6, 2/3/4, 2/11/6 and 0/5/3. guess what, the unranked player on my team... 2/11/6. the support couldn't help feeding with the adc. I am just saying Unranked players in their starting games should not be in a players promotions who has worked hard for their advancements games and they get gimped by a player who has never played a ranked game before. And for all you new players who dont know how to get this information.. LOLking.net gives all player information, including your teams and the opponents team when your playing.

Also this is only an issue with the lower elo's as a newly level 30 player in his first 10 games would not be placed with players in the plat or diamond elo's.

I would say stop playing until Riot figures out another ranked system that makes more sense but 6 years and counting and still not a single change to a bad system. Don't know what to say really; other than I'v been where you are now and it's annoying.

it is rather annoying, i am only in silver because i had rather bad teams during my starting placement this season, i was in japan for the last 6 months so i hadnt played at all this season until a few weeks ago. i mean it isnt always my team, their are times when i fall behind too and i am the reason my team lost, but on average in this elo i am alot better than the majority of my teams. I end up with 0 or 1 death by the first 20 minutes in and than my team will completely fall off and i am making stupid risky plays trying to get my team back up on top.

Pretty much what has happened to me. Im just as good as my plat friend but im stuck in silver. I almost got to gold about a week ago but my internet cut out (FOR NO FUCKING REASON) as the loading screen starting for my last game and i lost promos. I just gave up. The system they have given us is so broken.

Why are we getting unranked players in our promos to gold?  Why is silver 4 the starting elo in the first place when riot damn well knows that new players are bronze.  

My plat friend plays ranked with me occasionly on a separate account and hes given up helping me as well.  Me and him are almost always the ones carrying games and yet we get people who cant position and feed lane so hard we are getting our facing crit off by a 32-0 vayne with full build at 20 minutes. (exaggeration)  But thats what its like for me most of the time.  Its not worth all the trouble that i go through to turn around and get a fucking maokai skin.

Of AALL THE CHAMPS... FUCKING MAOKAI.. HeESS NOT EVEN GOOD RIGHT NOW!!

Maybe the system does make sense and not really the best wording on my part sorry. So let me explain myself. The ranked system TO ME(opinion) is too damn hard.
Riot clearly is trying to make this game a more "team game" but everyone hated the dynamic Q for some reason I suppose they were getting mad that people were grouping and playing together idk( which was the whole point of dynamic Q), but Riot is trying to make the game more team oriented but it just doesn't work especially if you go into game alone and in solo Q where no one works together anyways.

The ranked system while it's somewhat fair; you win to get where you go, it isn't really that great and I for one hope it gets improved on in the future. You finish Silver 3 and play all the up till the ranked season is over, the next year the same day that Ranked starts back up again and you win 7 out of 10 games with a 3.3 KDA and get placed B4 makes 0 sense to me. So during the season WINS only matter to get to high elo but WINS don't matter in your placement games? I'm pretty sure we all have friends or yourselves included that win 7-8 even 10 out 10 games and get placed B5.
Riot even stated that wherever you finished a year ago you will be placed 2-3 divisions lower than where you ended a season before. WHY? A year of playing the game and ranked- wasted!

   You get into your promo games once you get 100LP is that good enough to show you don't belong in that elo- winning 5-6 straight games to get 100LP nope; so you play the promo games and need to win 2-3 games to get out and if you do get out you start back at 0 LP but if you lose 2-3 games while you were in the promo series you lose LP and most times losing 20LP per game, so in most cases you will be back at 60-70 LP just to win 2-3 more games in a row just to make it back to your promo series.( I do however like the free win if you have already been in that elo's promo series).

That would be my gripe on the Ranked system; again it's my own opinion and I didn't use vulgar language to describe my opinions so please don't rage at me etc etc.

If I was given an opportunity to change the ranked system I would tweak a few things.

  1. Get rid of the promo games; winning 5-6 games in a row if not 7-8 if you lost a lot of games in the past and getting 100LP should be good enough to get out of that division. People who only gain 16LP per game because they lost numerous amounts of Ranked games but yet still manage to get to 100LP and that still doesn't mean anything as you still need to win 2-3 more games.

  2. Either start where you left off a season ago in the same division example (Silver 3 in S6 and Silver 3 in S7) at the start of the new year or have a system where once you played your 10 placement games and if it's lower or higher than where you left off a season ago you get to choose which one you prefer example ( Silver 3 in Season 6 or once you play your 10 games Silver 5, most people will pick the better elo anyways).

see i disagree on removing promo games as they pit you against the higher tier of player(s) to see if you belong in that league or if you are not yet there, the system in that respect makes 100% sense, i do think if you end up 4v5 in promos (and they have been flagged by LEAGUES system not the players as AFK then you should either be given a ''bonus'' game at the end if you fail your series as a last-chance saloon.

i do think dropping 1 whole division is quite harsh as sometimes it is simply out of your control granted its not usually that bad but i had a string of 12 games and almost dropped to bronze from straight losses due to AFKing, trolls and bad play (probs played bad myself too in some) but the requirement to drop from gold to silver should be a lot more lenient say,

starting off from where you finished last season is the best idea, i don't know why they don't do this, if you finished say gold4 you start at gold4, minimum, platV maximum, no one can be placed higher than plat right now so keep it like that so the top players still have it tough to get back to rank1.

as to your ''its too hard'' comment, its not meant to be easy, if competitive sports /games / Esports where meant to and where easy then we would all be playing in the world cup and it would be pointless.s.

    • I'm not going to lie, each time I get in my promo series; I feel like my teammates are just.... "garbage" like I'm talking about players going 0-7 10 mins into the games "garbage". Like my teammates are some forgotten league players that Riot doesn't know where to place them so they just put them in everyone's promo games to do what they do best feed or something. It's weird. I have a better team in Silver 4 with 60 LP than I do in Silver 2 with 80 LP; like the higher up you go in the lower tiers(silver-Gold) the worse the players are for some reason. I can't go back to my match history to prove anything but I would play against players who were Gold last season but are silver this season and vice versa but only Silver 3 or higher but when it came to the promo games I didn't face " higher tier players" I would either face or have a team of 3-4 bronze players.

  • Honestly I think it's the name that triggers players. Players that are in Bronze think there isn't an escape to get out and while I have climbed out myself 3 years in a row after ending each season silver 4-3-(most likely 5 this year) and starting back out in Bronze 5 for some reason; so while "elo hell" is somewhat real it's not impossible to get out of.
    TOXIC players should be sent to Bronze and have Bronze be more of a ( Hey you're toxic to your team now go play in a division that fits your own toxic behavior) and if those players do make it out they should be more tamed or rehabilitated for making it out. So have Bronze be more of a (Jail) um Hospital or something; I don't know just a thought on how to get people who really don't belong in Bronze but are stuck because of certain players while it gives Riot a way to deal with the Toxic players.

  • I think so too; it's so annoying to start somewhere that you didn't end at a previous year. I think of League(ranked) like school; you get out of 1st grade(Bronze) with kids who are childish and etc so you move up depending solely of you so as you're moving up through the grades you get stuck in 3rd grade(Gold) but you don't go back to 1st grade for 0 reason when the new season starts!

The argument could be made with " well you lost 6 out of 10 of your placement games"-RIOT If that's the case if I finished Gold 3 and I don't win 50% or higher yes demote me but not to Bronze or Silver. EXAMPLE BELOW

GOLD 5 0-2 Games won GOLD 4 3-4 Games won GOLD 3 5-6Games won GOLD 2 7-8 Games won GOLD 1 9-10Games won

OR just give us back our Division/tier that we finished the year before on.

  • This is just my own personal opinion as I'm SO TIRED of getting placed BRONZE 5 when each year I finish SIlver 4,3,5 with a 48-49% Win %.

Your MMR will be higher than your current league / divisionwhich is why your facing people of a tougher nature / higher ranked, the people who are unranked have 1500mmr (high silver low gold) as that's "average" for most players supposedly so the system starts your MMR in placements around that mark and you get placed somewhere between bronze and gold depending on the outcome.

As for unranks most are probably smurfs but even if their not when YOU started ranked you was in the same MMR position so you really have no right to moan as these players are just fine, there are worst ranked players in my experience.

As for team compositions are you duo aqueong, soloqeuing ?

Now depending on the timing and position you was in at 15/8 I'm sure if you knew how to carry at that MMR level you would of done you probably looked for fights and didn't play strategically enough or got lost on what to do.

And for unrankeds again in promos like you said at diamond or plat you jutcwill not see them it's near impossible however in silver 3/2 it's where I found the most difficult climb as the majority of people got placed around that mark and a lot are new players, so take advantage of it and just because there unranked doesn't mean there not as good as you

It is true that there are going to be some unranked players who are as good as i am, but i just dont think they should be put into promotion games for advancement, i think they should be put into the normal ranked games where if they are new it isn't going to be as bad if it were promotions. First of all i should have also mentioned i am a Shaco main jungler. I do rage sometimes when my teams are super bad in promotions.

Also i like the promo series, i dont disagree with this system at all. I just think when people are in their placement series, they should not be put with people in their promotions for advancement as these players have only played norms before and their is a huge difference even in silver how people play and how the average person plays in norms.

Seeing as your a shaco main hell man I've always loved shaco but I always do super bad on him, any rune tips or tips to get started in a game on him properly?

sure, i build him flat armor yellows, speed blues and quints and ad reds. so its 9 armr, 8.5 ad, and 19% attack speed. also my jungle path is , grom (start placing boxes at 46 seconds and you will get 4 before he spawns and just auto attack the boxes take all the damage. then i go blue golem as soon as box cd is down place it directly behind golem and it will turn and attack it. then wolfs, also place box behind gaint wolf so it attacks the box. than to the river bug on blue side, than i always gank mid and move to other river bug, than to stone golems things and smite it for buff, than to red buff, than to bird things. you should have one pot left over use it here and clear wolves and grom again than back. i use pot with blue golem and wolves .
