either i go vs renek,garen,fiora, or darius top lane.

There are counter plays to all of them to be honest. You can Gnar into a Darius and do well. Riven into a Fiora and do fine.

Really lol? Not sure what kinda Gnar and Riven you've been playing against, but they sure aren't easy when I play against them.

...Then you don't get to complain about the match-up, and have to make the best out of the cards you're dealt?

have a common, characteristic trait of being strong in melee combat, to the point of beating a lot of champions in a straight-out 1vs1.

However, as far as statistics are concerned:

• Darius was hit fairly hard with his recent nerfs, even if it does not reflect in his banrate yet. I fully suspect that his winrate goes up if his banrate goes down eventually - people probably have a rather hard time getting practice in one him for now.
• Garen and Renekton have fairly bad match-ups against a few ranged champions, but also a few melee ones.
• Riven is very mobile, with a strong early damage output, and thus wins a lot against champions that are weak early or depend on hitting skillshot CC/zone denial. However, non-skillshot CC (AoE or point&click CC) results in match-ups that are not in her favour.

And don't forget the king of anti-melee and early strength, . Statistically, he is the bane of all four of the mentioned champions.

He's damn good top lane.
