GLP and its current status and why I think it should be changed back
So the main idea here is the fact that the current state of the Hextech GLP-800 is less than optimal. Keep in mind that this opinion is coming from a Sol main, so I digress. The state of it in my opinion has worsened since the AP item reworks. As far as I can tell, the changes weren't exactly made for a balance change but rather for making it a more optimal item for more champions. In the efforts of trying to do this, removing catalyst from its build was not the best action to do this. Catalyst is a great item on many champs, and the removal of it made it sub-optimal for the few champs that did use it. Don't get me wrong, the lost chapter is another great item that quite a few champs rush early, but the GLP wasn't designed to fit those champs play-styles. The entire point of GLP was it was to act as another source of damage and cc for champs that lacked such. For instance, Aurelion Sol built it as the catalyst was a great item as he was mana hungry and he needed another source of cc in the form of a skill shot that was also effective at a close range. But the build path wasn't the only change that hurt the item, but also the change of the 300 hp to 300 mana. Also using sol as an example, the GLP gave him a good HP early in the game and fortified his other early item, the dark seal. With the conversion of the health benefit to mana, building this item on sol makes him too squishy to snowball the way he's supposed to. Essentially what I'm saying is that in my opinion the best plan of action for this item is to revert it to how it was before the AP item reworks.
and used it to help catch more people while staying tanky and getting some ap. i can live with the bolts not piercing anymore but it's the health that fucks over my fav build
