So about that grading system

Goes 0/0/21 Janna in ranked, gets A+, not sure how much more I could do. Take towers? Get kills? Get minions? I'm Janna.

Unless I'm gonna be a d-bag and go full ap for those steals.

Also, can we get a "damage prevented on allies" graph? So I can see how much I did?

The new State of the Season article stated that S rank on supports will be getting tinkered with in upcoming patches. I think 6.13 it 6.14.

I heard that currently you need to get at least one kill to be considered an s+.

not sure tho, cant find the source either

Janna has probably the strictest grading system for a specific champion. You die once? No chest! You have less than 80% kill participation? Too bad! Did your marksman die in lane? Looks like you and Lee Sin have something in common... BLINDNESS! Is that only 24 stacks on your Mejais? You disgust me, peasant!

The main reason why champion mastery is so strict with Janna is because peel is not something easily measured. The game has no idea if your tornado saved three lives or merely delayed the inevitable. There's no stat that keeps track of how many enemies you've pushed around with monsoon. I'm not sure if there's even a "damage mitigated" statistic for shields, since there's no numbers for it at the end of match graph.

Surely damage can't be what they're using, since Janna isn't picked for that in a team comp. So that leaves very few things to measure a good Janna player by. One single screw up could very well be the difference between A+ and S-. Most other champs have some wiggle room for errors, but not Janna.

Thank god they're taking a look at it for the next patch.

Generally I've noticed S ranks have more to do with how well you did vs. your rival than any other factor.

If you do 0/0/21 and the other support goes 0/0/21, no S rank for you.

If you go 0/0/21 and the other support goes 0/8/3, S rank.

Considering supports excel at locking down targets for there allies to take out, and supports are pretty easy to take out due to their lack of EXP and Gold, it's not that hard to get an S rank without getting any kills yourself.

Also: Riot is clearly considering much more than KDA for grading, so I wouldn't tunnel on that to hard. Try to do things like securing Dragons, warding, getting CS that would otherwise go to waste, kill participation, etc.

I've been able to pretty consistently get S on Janna even with a couple deaths. I think if you put a lot more focus on lane harassing and deep warding you might see your ranks improve. I also kind of always buy Majai's on her and max Q 2nd so my overall damage contribution might be higher than your average Janna. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.
