It is a very unpopular opinion but i believe that all players in lol should have low ping and have at least 1 server on the continent where they play. I know there are many players who do not want more servers and do not want more players to play with ping around 80 instead of 200. With over 6000 hours of playing with a minimum of 210 ping and it being officially 10 years, i believe riot should put a server on the continent of africa.
on the pbe i get 60-70 ping, in NA the server i live almost directly in the centre of the "best ping" zone... 120 ping on a bad day, 80 or so on a good one makes no sence
Riot did announce, that they are working on opening a server in africa.
theoretically all players should have low ping but its not possible with distance to the servers. In NYC I get 25-30 ping to the live servers and PBE 100-110. When I play with my friend from Boston he gets 40-50 ping to live and 120-140 on PBE.
That is the exact reason they moved the servers to a more central location to give most of the player base a decent ping where Pros are like 60-70 ping now. Its really rare to hear of someone now with over 100 ping on the NA server. The old server location it would be at least 2-4 people every game with 100+ ping in NA and it was complete BS for them to have the servers there and not a more central location.
The more servers they put out, the more they split up the player base. So you'd have lower ping, but also a lot less people on the server, meaning matchmaking is much harder/slower/worse. There's always a tradeoff.
