Poppy

Q - Hammer Shock SHOCK AND AWE If Poppy casts Hammer Shock immediately after Heroic Charge, Hammer Shock will cast toward her target

I understand why the change was made. Sometimes after charging, I'd fumble a bit and miss my Q! But I never once thought that the game was at fault._ I just missed_. This change was aimed at novice Poppy players that need assistance to land difficult Qs. But completely taking control away from the player is never a good idea, and the tweak actually makes me miss more Q's than I land.

Here are some examples of times when not being able to Q where I want is a bad thing:

  • When using Heroic Charge to gapclose, Qing onto the charged target is almost never what I have in mind
  • When using Heroic Charge to push minions into a group, Qing forward against my will makes me miss CS
  • When using Heroic Charge into a wall, Qing forward puts half the hitbox in terrain! Just why?

I'm sure there are more, since it's generally an awful idea. Shouldn't the GREAT Poppy players be able to decide where they want to point skillshots? There's absolutely no reason to completely ignore the inputs of the player when it comes to skillshots. It's not intuitive and it's not helpful.

If you find yourself missing Poppy Q's after using Heroic Charge, then you're probably just a GOOD Poppy player that needs a little practice to land those tough sideways Q's. Except you can't practice now because you don't have the ability to aim the thing.

TL;DR: Poppy's Q being automatically aimed is a bad idea and it makes you miss more than you land. Please revert it. Also, I've included a sarcastic poll to make my point about how fundamental this game design flaw is.

Let me know how you feel about it.

Sincerely,

A Player That Just Wants to Play Poppy Without Being Gimped

So if you want to use E to gap close and Q another nearby target you can no longer do that

Here is an example of half the Q hitbox being in terrain for absolutely no reason. My cursor is clearly to the left of Soraka. The good news is that the 'feature' works. Unfortunately, forward is the opposite of where I wanted it.
