I solo in Flex 5v5, and I recently got to Gold V. I figured the teammates I'm placed with would get better... or so I thought. Nah, fam. I get placed with individuals lvl 29 (never played ranked flex), and Bronze 5, etc. How is this possible? I understand the MMR is different for Flex, but what can explain such disparity? Why the huge differences between players? It just doesn't make sense.
How can you get level 29s in flex when you need to be lvl 30 to do it. lol.....
I think you are over exaggerating this just a bit.
The huge difference in Flex is that it's still a new Queue, everyone has to build up their MMR. Where as Solo Queues have been around since the beginning so people have already hit where they are, or do shortly after they place each season. Flex, they still need time to climb and a lot of people don't even take it seriously so it makes it harder for others to try and reach their proper or desired rankings.
