Honorable Opponent

I miss honorable opponent honors. Obviously I don't think it should be as prevalent as the honors for your team. And right now I think the team honors are generally very well made. But I also think that honorable opponent should find itself back onto the rift. The way I believe it should be implemented is the same way as it's always been with it being when you click on their name it should be an option. The reason I believe that this is so core to the honor function is imagine this is your scenario, you are losing your lane, one may refer to you as feeding. You are trying your best but unfortunately you got camped. You may even win the 1v1 but lose because of enemy junglers. The enemy Fiora sees how well you've been trying and doing and wants to honor you, but I'm sure as hell that your team won't. And then this honorable well playing player doesn't get the honor that the more successful say Caitlyn bot might get. I don't feel like the only players that can give a view of how well a player performed are the teammates. Particularly in a loss where teammates may be a bit annoyed, (for example my previous scenario) but an enemy team (potentially the winners) may not be so annoyed. Or even an enemy that lost lane and wants to congratulate you on your successful outplays and well deserved victory. And all of this is gone, and I hope that rito brings them back, even if its just in the exact same way as they've always been.

This is a feature they are planning to include, but they wanted to ship this version to us ASAP.

Really wish they would stop doing the "We wanted to get it out asap" and just wait a month or two and give us a finished product. It looks really awkward when less than a week after launching they go "yeah we want to do that but wanted to ship this asap". It makes it look like they are okay to ship an unfinished product just to get it out faster, and that looks really really bad.

They want to do it in "parts" They prefer to add things one at a time not push a entire system and have to redoit. In this way they can see how the community will react. For example they added honoUr first for Oceania for testing. Many companiea use this strategy for their software.

The current honor system is fine.

Having the current Practice Tool is way better than nothing.

Avoiding shipping these things early is not going to make the improvements come out significantly sooner.

Given that a year ish ago, Soon™ was a big meme, I'll take something over nothing any day of the week.

I agree!

Sometimes I just meet a really fun, chill person on the rift and want them to know I enjoyed playing against them without having to add them (which I don't mind, I just usually keep my friends list small).

It doesn't have to be a huge part of the new system, but I'd like if I could still do it.

Happens so often too... just say something funny in all chat and they reply, I reply, they reply, suddenly there's this wonderful banter and I can't honor them for it. Such a shame.

I feel like honoring opponents was really just an acknowledgement of good sportsmanship. Trouble is, good sportsmanship should be a REQUIREMENT, and we don't commend people for doing things they are required to do. Just my two cents.

If that's your view, then why even bother with honor? It's really the same difference. Why commend a teammate for playing well and trying to win when that is already the point.

Not saying I think that, but that is the same argument but for teammates.

Because the 3 options for honoring teammates go well above and beyond the normal confines of good sportsmanship. They are supposed to be given only to players that do something game changing. Whether that is keeping a positive attitude or carrying. These things are not required by any means to play the game (unlike sportsmanship).

Agree entirely, several games recently I've wanted to hi5 the other team for jolly attitude or impressive sportsmanship.

I agree, and I'm glad that it is on the docket for the future. Hopefully, it won't be long before it's back.

I think you should be able to honor multiple teammates and enemies, just being able to honor one person sometimes just feels bad.

That's what they were going for. By only honoring one person, you put more thought into who deserved it rather than "My team was nice, I'll honor everyone.", like with the old system. So that the truly honorable players get what they've been working for.
