I actually kinda liked Draven heads for Fools day

What's up?

My blood pressure.

Joke aside. Welp, that's true, I indeed liked this change for April's Fools day, although the majority of community didn't like it. I see they even disabled this mode what is a little pity for me. I hope I may see this enabled (or optional) again.

It didn't confused me in any way and it still looks something new. I know you might not be happy with what I wrote but that's just my opinion!

I never even got to see it. It makes me sad, Riot worked hard on this thing and everyone's bitching about it. Like, they even said there wasn't going to be URF, and while they may have a history of saying that, I still feel like people are being a little mean over this whole thing. Theoretically, Riot didn't have to do any of this. I mean aside from a select group, most game developers don't bother doing this sort of thing. Yet whenever Riot does stuff like this, even if it is for profit, people take the time out of their day to complain that it isn't "up to their expectations." But yeah, I wanted to see the Draven heads on everyone. [zombie-nunu-tears]

Yeah. At least respect the work and initiation from Riot. They worked to do something this 1st April and they are on-schedule with URF

That draven's head was bullsh1t, it's trash design didn't even fit with the champion just a same size head for everyone !Heimerdinger Teemo Gnar Kennen

It looked even funnier on yordles

The best was on Tahm Kench :^) He was basically wearing a ad Raven Head Hat lol

I thought it was only mildly amusing....until I saw AurelionSol fly overhead with Draven's face staring at me.....I nearly threw Baron cuz I was laughing too hard

im wishing they put Draven's head on Baron now :c

Worked hard? Really, make some skins and puts a draven heads on champions.

Compared to most other video game companies that wrote a fake set of patch notes or a fake article about a feature that was obviously not going to happen? Riot worked way harder on their April Fools.

It wasnt nearly as exciting as you may think it is... it was literally a jpeg image pasted where the heads were supposed to be and it Always faced the screen... If the heads were actually dynamic, I think I would probably found it more interesting, like I wanted to see TahmK or yordles or vel'koz with a draven head... this just looked like it took a minimal amount of effort, like they may have wanted to make the heads dynamic but ran out of time at the last second so they just threw a static image on all of the character models.

I was liking it too, at first no, but after awhile it was kinda funny

I liked it at the beginning and in the end. It's funny when an Urf Kench Draven spits a Draven Draven into the enemy fountain. Then Blitzcrank Draven gets the kill.

It was a harmless, fun joke. I now hate this community for being such a big steaming pot of little bitches.

Athenes Lulu2 votes

It was even more harmless than their "promises" of the NURF mode and the like.

Me too. It was really funny especially with friends. It was like "hey I'm playing dri, this is drekko, this is dreemo, this is drekarim and this is driktor".

The board has it's share of Riot fanboys. The "don't be mean to rito pls" brigade that think a billion dollar company needs white knights defending them when they fuck up.

Nearance2 votes

They are not perfect as I really hate we don't have replay and sandbox features. I just expressed as my opinion and I didn't try to defend/attack Rito's plan.

That might be true, but don't forget there are people on the other end that worked really hard on something.

Riot might be a very profitable company, but they also clearly employ people who are deeply passionate about the things they do. So they do care when they make a mistake, and having the internet pile on in an overblown way (because of course that's what the internet does) can make the people that work there feel like shit.

Trust me, you don't want the passionate people leaving a gaming company. That is what happened to Blizzard, and (partly) why WoW is in such sad shape.

You are supposed to feel like shit when you fuck up. It's normal to feel bad when you do something that affect others negatively. The real world doesn't care about your feelings, it's apart of being an adult. When you make mistakes you cop the frustration, man up, fix the issue, and learn from it.

Blizzards problem is they don't know how to manage a player community and they are very stubborn with their way of doing things. Riot are extremely good at it, they responded quickly and took down the draven head nonsense for example.

Well yes but they would have felt bad about doing a bad job already if people had just... said they didn't like it whatever. People don't need to be told to fuck off/that they're worthless to feel bad about doing a bad job.

This is off-topic now, but I don't follow the news in there, what exactly happened in Blizzard?

WoW has just been on a slow decline, and the most recent expo was VERY light on content and just lackluster.

Blizzard had a lot of their talent leave over the years, and they feel more and more like Activision as time goes by.

Riot was smart enough to get Ghostcrawler (Greg Street) from WoW, and his replacement there butchered PvP in a way that just ruined it, then doubled down on the bad choices.

They just seem to have a huge lack of leadership and don't have the vision and passion they used to.

Riot makes mistakes, but I have never once questioned that the people working there care deeply about the game and want it to be the best possible. They are building their own internet to try and shave 20ms off pings, that's insane.

I used to feel the same way about Blizzard, but I just don't see that anymore.

They didn't fuck up. To me it looks like Riots customers consist of mostly 15 yr olds who can't handle when mommy says no.

Where is kitty? I wanted Kitty?

(But yes, I also agreed with you. I wasn't 100% looking forward to URF, so this was an interesting throwball)

Nearance15 votes

I originally put an image of kitty but it took a large area in post so I removed. But I still have smaller one (in terms of pic size and kitty itself):

That was how I was feeling at that time when I saw they removed this feature. summoner 3

Seeing the League of Legends home page made me laugh, I can see why the Draven Heads may have caused some issues, but I thought it was pretty entertaining.

I personally liked the Draven heads.

I didn't like the fact that Draven also had to stick his head into the servers and give me 15FPS.

There were huge problems with this mode ... As a person who DISLIKES THE FUDGE out of draven I am talking to all the people that feel the same way I do ... this was not funny it was a nice idea but I disliked it ...

Nearance3 votes

Yeah, I completely understand you and those people. Draven heads may cause confusion or affect gameplay in some way. For me (personally) it didn't happen so I was happy. summoner 31

kinda liked draven day i loved draven day as someone who plays draven i can tell you i freakin loved draven day more draven not enuf draven! moar jraaaaaaveeen!

Emperor Time3 votes

Didn't like it at all. Draven isn't even a good champion why is he getting a day based around him? Just because of some meme??

Nearance3 votes

Well, yea, I believe it started from "league of Draven" quote or something like that and somehow this got into community as well as into RIto. summoner 31 I might be wrong, though.

Daxanater3 votes

It'd be funny if it wasn't on fools day. tbh

Cyndercat2 votes

Yeah I thought the draven thing was pretty funny. Doesnt stop me being really disappointed about urf which is what soured most people as draven cant compare at all. But taking it just for what it was, a daft april fools, i liked it.

If they had just included urf as rotating mode this weekend as well I think most people would have had a much better reaction to it.

Prozzak5 votes

Why be disappointed with something you should never have assumed would show up?

Cyndercat1 votes

Because I was hoping that since rotating queue wasnt ready they would release urf for april fools anyway, just to please the community since its alot of peoples faviourite thing in lol. Its also a tradition so even knowing they would remove it, i was disappointed. Not to mention the april fools joke that it wont come and then last minute it comes.

zacktootall2 votes

guys draven is now more hated then teemo are you kidding me

Aych Pii4 votes

This is such a dumb mentality. I should hope the community's more mature than this, but I'd be kidding myself.

Kal Vas Flam2 votes

I mean it does kind of show that Riot listens to the community in that they picked up on the meme and built an entire event around it. I don't care either way - I didn't like Urf and don't really play normals.
