Why is there no Nocturne in this new game mode for assassins? He is labeled as an assassin but not in the champ select. But yet Pantheon is a secondary as an assassin and is in this mode? Wtf Riot?

midnight oil241 votesThey didn't include him because they wanted a variety of characters and also nocturne was usually built tanky and didn't have the burst potential that other assassins had.

Nocturne isn't known for being an Assassin, even though he was originally designed that way when he was first released. He evolved into a Fighter, and that's what he is currently. He builds like a Diver, a combination of offense and defense.
Pantheon, meanwhile, builds almost purely offensive items. He's known for being a burst damage threat that pops squishies and nails point-and-click spears. He can be built Bruiser, but rarely is because it gives up a lot of his damage potential.
There's a difference between the two in how they are commonly perceived and played.
By the way, Riot officially refers to them both a Diver Fighters.

Because one is commonly built tanky, and the other is primarily built pure damage.
