Placements

Going to start by saying this isn't my main account. I'm sitting in mid gold so I make no claims to being a league expert or anything.

With that out of the way lets get on with my question. There are very few things in league that annoy me more than the following.

Get into a game Guy picks Nasus into a teemo. Ok maybe he is just really confident lets do this. Game starts and he starts rushing armor. Now I am getting a bit worried. Isn't farming with his Q at all. Dies 4 times before 10 minutes. Twice trying to dive. Gives their lee jungle first blood and a second kill. I'm starting to think this guy is a troll or something. We end up losing and this guy has more deaths than the rest of the team put together and 80 stacks at 30 minutes.

I check OP.gg after the game and what a shock it was his first ranked game ever. I can't blame him for that at all. The system screwed him and us over and made for a un-fun waste of 30+ minutes. One of the guys on my team was in his promos to get to gold. I feel kinda bad for that guy.

Which brings me to my question. Why the hell are people in placements being put in gold games or high silver games like that. It is entirely unfair for all involved for a game to be decided because someone that effectively doesn't have MMR is being tested by starting in the middle. Start placements in bronze. Win in bronze play in silver. Win in silver play in gold. None of this first game in gold second game in high silver stuff that just ruins games for everyone else. I remember there was a stretch in my climb through silver (S3-S2)where it felt like most of my games were decided one way or the other by who had the feeding guy in placements. It wasn't fun. It felt like games were decided by the matchmaker. The losses felt unfair and the wins felt cheap. I know it wasn't really most of my games but it happened often enough to be entirely obvious not just to me but to some of my buddies that would spectate my games. I actually stopped playing ranked for a while just due to the frustration of dealing with it.

Hell I freely admit that as a gold 3 I'm pretty bad at this game but most fresh level 30s going in to ranked make me look like a challenger. It just isn't fair to the other 9 players or the guy in placements.

Added gripe I saw people that went 3-7 or 2-8 in placements get put in S1-S2 and feed their way down to S5 and then into low bronze MMRs (ruining games along the way just by being there) while golds from last season that went 6-4 get put in bronze 3. I don't get the logic.
