What champion should i use to lane against a yasuo?

Benzinkút··12 votes·5,559 views

Hello

Im new to league and i have a friend from gold league who mains yasu and he says he can defeat any champ in laning phase. We sometimes 1v1 in custom and he always defeat me when i use aatrox (didnt try any other champ till now he is the first i bought) Is there any other champ that could actually give yasu a hard time during laining phase? As i know all laners have a counter that they are weak 1v1 (like aatrox is weak vs jax i experienced xD)

Thank you for the help mutch appreciated

Aatrox should probably not be losing a 1v1 against Yasuo, since he'll just stat check him and outsustain. Given your summoner level, I'd shy away from some of the more complex champions that typically do well against him, and instead go with something simple. Forget Leblanc, Fizz, even Talon. Go for Jax, Tryndamere, Xin-Zhao, Darius, Garen, and so on. You want champions that'll largely ignore Yasuo's outplay potential and just roll all over him with a bundle of stats.

I have jax and garen i was thinking about morde or heimer (And i was afraid of him so i was hiding under turret and he outfarmed me also in tradesThunderlord just does a trizilion dmg and i dont have that :P)

Anraton1 votes

jax should work ... you can use the E "counterstrike" to negate a chunk of damage and stun him. leap strike offers a way to get close

you don't have thunderlord? your account isn't at least lvl 18?

about thinderlord .. iirc it has a 25? seconds cd on early levels

Benzinkút1 votes

Im about lvl 8 i think :P Im new

Anraton2 votes

ok then tell your friend he should use an empty rune page (hope you didn't buy any tier 1 or 2 runes) and ony use 8 mastery points as you do ....

Benzinkút1 votes

Nah he says :that takes too mutch time to remove and put back after :P and doesnt really matter mutch anyway x) (Except thunderlord i dont see any mastery or rune do mutch of anythig :)

IronwallJackson20 votes

Your friend is straight up playing you, then. Those 22 levels that separate you two allow your friend to show up with a major advantage, and his refusal to even the field outs him as kind of a dick.

Benzinkút1 votes

Well im trying to use his counter so... xD Also when he invites me i need to play vs lvl 30 enemyes so the disdvantage is also sg i need ti practise x/

Anraton2 votes

well .. you are about lvl 8 ... your friend could easily creat a new account and us that to play with you (even when he is behind in level, he should be able to keep up with you as he has the experience)

if he refuses ... my advice is to not play with him until you got lvl 30 ... you just don't stand a chance and you won't have fun.

Benzinkút3 votes

I did defeat him when he used leblanc and to 4-0 he ended up saying leblanc is weak and just surrendering :P

Sisters100861 votes

ah... masteries and rune page can create a huge difference... Tell him to stop cheating on you or just stop soloing with him because it will just be not fair and frustrating when you loss

Benzinkút1 votes

Im not so flustrated about unfair fights yesterday i played a match (i was the jungler) and 2 of my teammates (my bot lane) instantly disconnected so the game was a 3v5 from the start and i had to defend bot as aatrox vs teemo and varus :P i did end up being like 3/1 in lane but we had no chanse when they grouped (even thou our top laner was better than theirs)

A good player can carry any fight ;)

Spicy Rice2 votes

Fo real tho, your friend is being an ass and exploiting his experience and runes/masteries to give you a hard time

Anraton4 votes

then he lied ... runes are a huge difference ....

as an example shen, as a TANK classified champion starts with 25 armor. yellow armor runes alone give +9 armor (+1 per rune), reds are .95 bonus ad per rune .. +8.55 ad for 9 runes.. yasuo got 55 ad at level 1 (without runes and masteries)

thunderlords deals 10 per level + 30 of ad from items as magic damage if you get hit 3 times in a short period (cd starting at 25, reduces down to 15 seconds at lvl 18)

Aatrox's early game is awful and would end up being free gold for Yasuo.

Agree on your other facerolls. Xin, Darius and Jax would be able to hold their own if not outright kill him level 1.

theonlyaustin3 votes

anybody who can harass at a distance is fantastic against yasuo. People like Lux, Twisted Fate, Heimerdinger ヽ༼ ͠ ͠° ͜ʖ ͠ ͠° ༽ノ, Quinn, people like that

IronwallJackson2 votes

All of those champions are skillshot reliant, which is a bad thing to be against a skilled Yasuo. They end up having little in the way of kill pressure and some even lack a reliable escape, neither of which are probably things that OP needs.

Malzahar great for new players and will steamroll pretty much any matchup against melee very easy to play also very easy to farm with drop your e on a low health minion and just watch as your gold income goes up a lot

But he is not so mobile isnt that a problem?

Malicious Metal2 votes

Not at all actually. Yasuo needs to get into Melee range and is really damn squishy while Morde got obscene Damage and durability.

Building a Rylais is a must though, giving Morde slows on every ability.

As a level 5 mastery darius, i can say that in a 1v1 against yasuo, darius almost always wins. Just remember to dunk when yasuo is at max stacks or if he is really low

Malzahar and Annie are probably the best counters to him. Malzahar has a great point and click crowd control to lock down and burst Yasuo . Annie has a great burst combo at level 6 with again good CC to burst him. I think you can see a pattern.

Festive Bear1 votes

But yasuo can windwall annie's q and dash away from her combo.

Ruin Lance2 votes

if yasuo wind walls annie's q then it doesn't matter much. it has an extremely short cooldown and if she tries to use it to stun him and he wind walls it the stun does NOT get expended, and she can use the stun in her next spell as if she didn't even use her Q. and as for dashing away from her combo, this isn't going to happen unless the person playing annie is a braindead monkey because she can use her point-and-click instant cast abilities to stun him and stop him from moving or retaliating.

Ruin Lance1 votes

Chogath ,Fizz Garen Fiora Mordekaiser Azir Irelia Nautilus Nasus Renekton Vladimir Zyra Zed Swain Talon Malphite Maokai Leblanc Lucian Lissandra ALL of them give yasuo a bad time in the laning phase. There are more champions that counter him but I think that's enough for now. Though, I would stay away from a few of the higher-skill champions like Azir that I mentioned unless you plan on playing them a lot. Your friend is wrong by the way. Yasuo ISN'T able to beat every champion in the laning phase. I know this because there are certain champions with extremely linear, un-outplayable kits like Garen and Nasus for example. Your friend can beat you in 1v1s because he has runes and masteries and more overall experience playing the game. If you have any more questions about yasuo or his matchups feel free to ask me, I have 500k mastery with him.

Benzinkút1 votes

Thank you that is a very extensive answer :) I would immidiatelly take the offer and ask who has an ability to easily dodge thetornado? Like a jump away or fizz jump? Out of the ones that are good vs yas of course ;)

Also sometimes in extreme fights with lots of animation i loose track of my character is this usual new player thing or i need to change some settings?(not in 1v1s but huge teamfights) Thx again :D

Lucian E allows him to easily sidestep Yasuo's tornado. Fiora Q allows her to sidestep Yasuo's tornado and her W allows her to completely negate the tornado and stun him in return. Malphite Q allows him to steal Yasuo's movement speed, making it easy to dodge his tornado since you're moving so fast. Talon E allows him to blink onto an enemy minion or Yasuo himself. This is very good because now Yasuo has no tornado and you can pull off your combo on him. Be warned that Yasuo can wind wall Talon's W and R to stop the damage so try to bait it out before you all-in. His wind wall is on a very high cooldown (26 seconds) so you have a good window to all-in once he uses it. Zed W allows him to blink to his shadow to dodge Yasuo's tornado and his R makes him untargetable, along with giving him another shadow to blink to. You do a lot of damage with your combo as long as Yasuo doesn't wind wall it so Zed is pretty good against him. Leblanc has so much mobility. You can use your W to dodge his tornado and you can W again to teleport back to where you were and you can also use your R to clone that ability, giving even more potential to dodge. I would recommend mostly using her W to deal damage though. Be careful not to run into his Q while trying to dash at him with your W. Maokai W allows him to go untargetable while ALSO dashing onto a target. You're able to also stay very healthy in lane assuming you don't take too much damage from his Q and E harass, because your passive allows you to get a % of your maximum HP back every ~6 spells that are cast around you, including yours and his, and any other champions around you. Yasuo spams abilities a lot so make sure to abuse this by basic attacking every time your passive is up. Renekton E is a dash that lets you dash twice if you damage an enemy with it on your first dash. Be warned that this ability has near a 20 second cooldown at rank 1 so try not to just spam it whenever it's up as he needs it to dash onto Yasuo and deal damage to him. Vladimir W lets him get a short movespeed boost and also makes him untargetable. Note that you should only use this in really close situations that you think that you will absolutely HAVE to use it as this ability has an EXTREMELY long cooldown (26 seconds at rank 1) and also costs 20% of his current health. You can start using this ability more freely when you have lots of CDR and have it leveled up a bit (do not max this ability first or you are going to have a bad time.)

Losing where you are in teamfights is pretty normal for new players. I used to do this a lot but once you gain more experience with the game, you will definitely start being able to track of what is happening a lot easier because you will know every ability and all of the champions well enough.

MXXXXXL1 votes

Upvote for you for being a good person and not bitching about Yasuo being ridiculously OP or some bullshit, and for you having the knowledge to realize that every laner has a counter.

Also, Aatrox is easily the worst champion in the game, item 3123 counters him so damn hard it's crazy, he was also my second champion, he can be pretty fun though, don't stop playing him because he's bad.

Benzinkút2 votes

Thank you Also could you write down the name of that item? :Di dont really know (never bought it before) xD

Nah if i would feel like yasu is op i would simply use him xD I feel like to defeat a player who has mutch mutch more experience +runes+masteries you need some extreme tactics :)

I have fought with terrible yasu players before its obviously not the champion but his experience with him :)

MXXXXXL1 votes

The item is called The Executioner's Calling, it counters him because it's passive makes dealing physical damage apply Grievous Wounds at any health %, Grievous Wounds reduces self-healing by 40%, Morellonomicon applies Grievous Wounds on magic damage to champions below 40% health, and Mortal Reminder applies Grievous Wounds on physical damage at any %.

Benzinkút1 votes

Ignite does this too i like to use it on warwic but as aatrox you can w and deal dmg instead if you cant heal does that help?

MXXXXXL1 votes

The Ignite will reduce your healing by 40%, meaning Aatrox's W will be really weak.

Benzinkút1 votes

Yes but it will not change the ~+200dmg you deal with your autos if you change to blood price

MXXXXXL1 votes

But you still have at least 1 lifesteal item which gets ruined, and item 3123 applies Grievous Wounds every time the user deals physical damage Aatrox will pretty much be permanently Wounded.

Benzinkút1 votes

Thank you i will use this item vs lifesteal enemies like ww nocturn and aatrox ;)

I play Yasuo every once in a while, and what usually gives me hell is either Fizz , Darius , or Zed . Hope it helps :D

Benzinkút1 votes

Thank you ;) I do want to main zed in mid lane later but he is hard to leard and cost lot of ip x)

OneExit2 votes

Zed does cost a ton of IP, but his learning curve is actually pretty enjoyable. Have fun! :D

Benzinkút1 votes

Thank you I will definately play him ;)

Use Mord. I always beat yasuo in lane. Start boots and pots, play safe pre six, just focus cs, and poke with e and W when he's too close. Rush swifty distortion boots and rylias.

Time deactivate on W for when you need it, dodge his tornado, and if he DOES ult you because he lands it, be sure to flip w, ult him, deactivate w ASAP for heal, flip ghost and pop q. Easy.

Run ghost and flash, and DFT.

He beats you pre six. You beat him post 6. Yas comes to YOU. Just focus cs early to retain a cs and level advsntage, be non aggressive early. Farm is important, and only poke when he gets close. Capitalize on heal from w as much as you can when he's close, and always shield.

Max Q first, w second.

Build AP. Rylias, than Ludens, than Duskblade for cheese, or Landries for more health and AP if needed.

Plus, yasuo can't windward Mord, he loses an ability. The boots rush is to dodge skillshots, escape bad situations, and to secure kills. Mobility OP

Thank you for the comment Excuise me but what is DFT?

Thank you all despite all the lvl difference and experience i did won as kayle :D He was useing diana instead of yasu thou :P
