Why does RIOT not care about ARAM?

I know I'll never get the appropriate response I'd like but I've got to vent. RIOT simply doesn't care about ARAM. First let's start with the champ selection. This is a complete joke. I don't know what algorithm you're using but you might as well remove it and just let us select champs we'd like to play. I say this because I'm tired of getting completely off set matches where there is simply no way that you'd win because the opposing team has 4 long range pokes and a tank, or a team full of CC. This is frustrating all on it's own and I could write an entire post about this... but why waste the time? I'm sure I'm not the first to bitch about this and I won't be the last. Next is again, champs. I'm so glad that RIOT basically gets all of its money through 5v5 game type but I'm not a fan. I've seen too many times making a single mistake, and losing a match I've already invested 45 minutes in so no thank you. I like the concept of ARAM because who doesn't enjoy a good team fight but there are some champs that are simply WAY to overpowered to be on this map type. Which champs you ask? Oh I don't know... SONA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First off, I'm not sure of what retarded brain child that was, but making a champ that scales really well, heals, CCs, and does tons of damage.... How could it get worse? Well RIOT has answered that as well but making ZERO of her abilities skill shots. That's right, I've literally played a match where I slammed my face into the keyboard and killed someone. I realize RIOT has to mix things up and have new champs but cmon really? If it's likely to be banned in ranked matches... probably isn't a good idea for ARAM. Now like I said, I know that ARAM isn't the bread winner in this relationship... more like the forbidden incest love child tied up in the basement, but hey what do I know. This leads me to the third item on the list, the snowball. RIOT thought this was cute and fun so decided to keep it.... Great, now everyone who has never played Shen before has the ability to close gaps with the best of them!!! Really RIOT? Why is this in ARAM? Where can you go? Lastly is the matches themselves. Too often, playing randoms I notice that when I have a good team comp, the match gets dropped because someone left. I que up again, awesome comp, same drop. This isn't random. This is someone who has successfully implemented a third party program on top of League in order to see what champions are on the other side. This is obviously cheating and obviously yet again... RIOT doesn't care. You might be thinking "So why play then?" Well that's easy too. I'm waiting to play the new league of path, you know the other game that listens to it's fan base and not just the cash cows. In conclusion, I guarantee one of four things happening from this post. One, i'll get banned, two this will be deleted, three everyone will comment about how I'm completely wrong and they are 100% happy with the way things are, four no one will give a shit.

Huh?.. there isn't an option for satisfied with ARAM the way it is in your poll.

The last set of changes they did to ARAM really did improve it.

ARAM is completely unbalancable, it is random you can't control what champions come out there is no way to balance it properly, Sometimes you are just unlucky and the enemy team has a super powerful comp then due to randomness it happens twice. You shrug, have the game end quickly and play another.

How is ARAM unbalanceable? You balance champs, not team comps. It's like claiming a hypothetical champ with 100% winrate is balanced for SR just because either team has the opportunity to pick that champ.

There is a way to balance it properly while still keeping it random. Why not set it up where there are set roles, i.e. tank, ap, assassin, etc. then randomly assign those roles to the players. The game would then select randomly from the f2p pool and the players characters to make a match. You still have the option of re rolling for something different outside of that role if you choose but your team isn't too overpowered or under powered either. This will ensure at least some what of a balanced game while at the same time not completely screwing you over.

OP is on President's cabinet. You can tell by the massive wall he built here.

The game is clearly balanced for SR and not for ARAM. I would not want champions nerfed because of thier ARAM prowess. I play plenty of aram (on my NA account at least) but SR is more important.

I don't want to have the roles controlled like that. I want it to be random like it says it will be I want to win a game as 5 tanks I want to have to build AP on my ADC to try to balance the ratio of AP and AD I like dealing with the challange of an uncontrolled team comp. Sometimes your team comp just can't compete.

There has to be at least one game mode where you can just enjoy yourself doing werid things.

It is unbalanced inherently because players are not able to make optimal choices so we just don't know what is balanced and what is bad luck. You can't counter pick or settle into a metagame or anything that improves balance or understanding of balance like that.

Riot has been adding balancing mechainics to ARAM for some time now.. Snowball for melee champions, speed up for early deaths all of them have been good changes that have improved aram. But that is generic changes to help some classes of champion and not for individual champions themselves.

As of almost 4 years ago, map-specific balancing is possible. Recent-ish examples include Gangplank passive Serpent generation and doubled Nasus Q stacking. There's no requirement that nerfs for ARAM impact SR balance.

Furthermore, normals are explicitly the place for you to "just enjoy yourself doing weird things." RGM modes are another option. It makes no sense to disregard potential improvements to a permanent game mode just because you wanna screw around in that specific mode.

Finally, it is exceedingly unlikely for "bad luck" to persist over hundreds of thousands of games. Is ARAM inherently unbalanced on a per-game basis? Sure, because of the aforementioned team comp and luck issue. However, luck is irrelevant to balance over a large number of games because everyone (theoretically) has the same luck. And, coincidentally, champ balance is based on performance over a large number of games.

As a side note, the sheer fact that ARAM-optimized accounts exist proves that ARAM has settled into a metagame. Even those balancing mechanics you mentioned reinforce the existence of ARAM's metagame.
