If we're gonna include competitive play, I can also explain to you how the victimized mages are actually broken and need nerfs, since they're pick/ban right now
Who the fuck are you responding to? Why the hell would you need to "explain" anything about mages to me? Have I given you any sign that I have any misconception about where mages stand? No, seriously, stop and tell me exactly where I bitched about mages being underpowered. Do that right now. Show me where I told you that mages are underpowered. Quote me.
Do not put words in my mouth. That's really fucking insulting. Like, I'm actually annoyed right now, and I wasn't annoyed talking with you before. I was enjoying myself. That's a pretty shitty thing to do.
Hell, this is actually an argument I should be making to you, not the other way around. My argument is that AD carries are generally a less impactful class than other classes in the games. The entire crux of that argument is that the performance of the assassins, mages, tanks, ranged bruisers, and pretty much everyone else (except maybe the melee bruisers) matters more than the performance of every AD carry that isn't Lucian, Ezreal, or Sivir right now.
I can read statistics
Yeah, let's talk about statistics for a second. Namely, how little our available statistics matter for determining the relative balance of classes, particularly AD carries. Right now all ADC winrates totaled together equal out to about 50%. Like they always do. Like they always have and probably always will. This has been true no matter how weak or strong the class has been because AD carries are always played against the limited pool of other AD carries, meaning that mathematically the winrate of all the champions in the class has to equal out to 50% (or very near it, assuming that there are a few games with non AD-carries played bot). That has to be true because in any game where one AD carry wins, another AD carry loses. Because of that, you don't have any statistic to point for saying that AD carries are a weaker or stronger class than other classes are, or that they are as strong as other classes are. We have to extrapolate from actually playing the game, and to entirely frank, what I've seen from the guys I support and what I see on streams leaves me with no doubt that AD carries are less important than the other guys in the game right now. The only exceptions are the very impactful caster carries, and of course Graves, he of little balance.
The only statistic that would really answer this question is how having a player of a given relative rating on a team playing ADC influenced the team's winrate as compared to having a player of that relative rating on a team playing a different champion (for example, if your best playing is on ADC, do you win more or less often than if your best guy is your mid laner?) Without that stat, we don't have a good statistic that is representative of what I'm complaining about.
I also have another statistic: ADC diversity in pro games is at a very low point, even given the already low champion diversity in pro games, and the only ones played are the ones with the strongest survival mechanics and potent early games. That says little for the strength of the class.
Anyway, after that long, overwritten body of text, I'm done for the night and probably the weekend. Later man.
