Can we discuss why immobile melee don't feel rewarding and what needs fixing?
Long standing issue but has come to surface much worse recently since preseason.
A lot of immobile melee toplane (
) feel completely unrewarded and are unable to make any substantial damage stick when they successfully get into range of an enemy toplaner before getting forcefully disengaged. In most cases with (
) they flat out lose short trades, long trades and all ins against the current roster of popular toplaners (
) while also getting outscaled into split pushing and teamfight situations. It's even worse lategame due to the huge amount of peel currently present.
They dont feel particularly tanky... or threatening. They dont feel like they need to be shut down and in general they are just easy fodder for junglers due to lack of mobility and disengage tools. The only immobile melee top who even feels threatening right now is
.
While kits arent everything, compare what
has in their arsenal of things to play around and decisions to make in lane relative to
. Its laughable how little they get in exchange for losing so much power from lack of utility, disengage and mobility. You dont even have the sustain in lane to go even most games and hope you pickup midgame either.
it also typically feels like the burden of knowlege for these champions is more towards the enemy screwing up than you making smart plays. Which is just depressing.
Id love for someone from Balance/Gameplay to opt into a dicsussion.
