Teamfight, Annie help/tips

Hi, Iv'e recently started playing top and mid because I main support and id like to learn another role as my secondary role. I chose mid because everyone says annie is the easiest champ to play in the game so I decided to try her out and I am utterly confused on her.

I know her combos and passive but when I go to use my spells I lose a trade very hard or just die, im guessing because of annie's short spell ranges I have to walk up to them closely but when I do that I get destroyed.

Iv'e asked for help in game like through chat and everyone seemed to like to cuss me out and tell me to kill myself instead so thats why im here. Any tips playing mid and annie specifically would be appreciated, thanks

Do you have your stun up? Y: Go for a trade using your stun and back off. N: Q minions or press Molten Shield until you do.

is your opponent low? Y: See Question 1. N: Stay the heck away from them, ward and just stare at minions.

Are you level 6? Y: See Question 2. N: Q minions.

Is there a team fight? Y: See question 3, and question 1; If yes to all, press R and walk away. N: See question 5:

Is there an enemy champion in front of you? Y: See Question 3. N: Shove. The. Wave. To. Tower. And Leave.

I get what you're saying with this. How do I stop from being insta killed though when going for trades in lane, thats my biggest issue. I stun em then when they get unstunned they demolish me and I lose the trade, doesnt quite make sense
