Someone who isn't a pro on the Rift (rant)

I am low bronze. I know I will not be a pro. It isn't being negative, just honest. It does not diminish how much I care about playing well. I want to get better. I have played a few ranked games, lost mostly as you probably guessed by my ranking. I do not intentionally feed. I do try to not be stupid, sometimes I fail. I try to stick with a champ for awhile to get a good feeling for them even if I am not doing great with them. I feel bad when I am not doing well. I get worked up as much as anyone. No one is as hard on me as I am on myself.

I have taken some time off from ranked because I was getting a lot of flak in game about how I was useless and feeding and the like. I have played ARAM a lot lately. It is quick and has given me a chance to play many many many different champs and see how they work. It does not give you good game play tactics and experience, but it is so darn fun.

I have been playing just normal games. I miss the ranked play though. It is honestly more intense than normal play. I don't miss how negative everyone is there when you aren't doing great. I am there to learn, give me decent pointers, not just degrade me for making mistakes. I know that my runes are probably an issue as well, I am working on that. Realize that most bronze levelers are there for a reason, we are here to get better not to just be told how bad we are. I am not naïve. I know that there are legitimate feeders out there. But try to give some help actually.

Well I think you need to go back into arams. Not as a knock against you. You said it didn't give you good game play tactics or experience. I think it is the single best way to learn a few things.

  1. How to team fight. When you are in there work on your positioning in team fights. Learn how to tank (as a tank) or avoid damage as a squishy.

  2. Learn to avoid skill shots. This is something I work really hard on when I am in arams. Just avoid them the best you can do. Make a mini game out of it. When you get back into a SR game it becomes so much eaiser.

  3. Now this is the biggest thing to learn, and also the hardest. Learn how to GET carried. I know it doesn't sound that fun or exciting. But if your end goal is to rise in ranks it's the most important thing to do. Now what I mean is this, do the little things. Learn when it's a good time to dive the back, or when it's better to peal. Watch items/champions on the other team. Find the weakness to exploit. Ancient Coin for example helped me learn when to kite/chase. Do the little things that your team needs and when you get back to SR you will naturally do it.

Remember, where ever you are stuck in ranked is elo hell. The players really don't get better or less dickish. If you are supporting, remember your job is to help get your adc to the place where he/she is ahead and can carry. Same with jungle. Help your team more than trying to carry and you will find yourself climbing.

Not bad, I have learned a bit from ARAM actually, was rather surprised thought it was just a place to blow of steam. You give sound advice, I do tend to be aggressive as a support rather than let the adc do the damage, and that gets me in trouble at times. I guess up to now it is more what is for me and not so much the team. Ranked is more a focus on getting the win, not just doing good for yourself.

Thank You.
