Placements in the New Ranked System

Hello,

Last year I didn't place well in DUO because I never really pursued it, but I did in Flex. I know the ranking is separated between the two systems and they do not carry over. However, I won 7/8 of my Provisionals in DUO this time; kept winning many more Ranked matches and ended at 13 wins and 3 losses at one point. However, there was no spike in movement based on MMR and still in Bronze 4. If you win many times in a row and your MMR grows beyond where you're currently placed, are we still being moved up an entire division as seen fit by MMR? I've seen cases of this before. Curious if this holds true in the new system.
