position ranks ending? why?

I didn't like it. If it weren't splashed lp losses I'd give it a shot, but since it was I won't play anything but support.

I hope they choose to keep positional ranking but remove any correlation of ranks between roles. Then I'll try other roles just to see where I'd land. Unfortunately I know I'm no where near gold as anything but support.

Let me start off with first off, nobody asked for positional ranking. They keep trying to change up ranked every year. I remember when there was only solo/duoQ and 5v5 team ranked. Then they Added in something called dynamic queue and removed solo queue for awhile and permanently got rid of 5v5 team ranked. Then they got rid of dynamic, added in solo/duo again and added flex queue. Now they are trying out positional ranking in solo/duoQ.

Now let me go over a couple of big issues with positional ranking.

So first off it takes way longer to rank up in all roles. So positional ranking is really bad for Fill mains. They will never be able to climb like they could last year. It takes a whole 40 games to be just placed in all roles. You can climb an entire division in that many games.

If you are a Single role main or maybe main a couple of roles (which is almost everyone), then getting autofilled to a different position is just a complete waste of time. That game hardly counts for anything. Why would I want to play a ranked support game if i only want to play adc or jg? So I can either dodge or waste 30 minutes of my time playing a game that means nothing to me

Now this is where it gets ugly. I have had many ranked games where the person on my team who gets autofilled into a rank they don't care about just grief the whole game. They will pick a troll champion for that role, they will just not try at all, or they will just straight up run it down mid trying to end the game. This makes ranked just completely suck. The one autofilled asshole ruins the game for everyone. There is no incentive to even try in an autofilled game.
