I have never been into league of legends. But recently I have became interested in ranked solo queue. It became obvious soon after that I will need to play every role. adc, jungle, ect. Is this true? and maybe you can tell me something more about this system. Can it be avoided? What if I only prefer one role in league?

I believe in season 6 Riot is rolling out a new ranked system that allows you to que up as 2 roles. But right now ranked is a draft mode. Players choose their lanes by pick order, however it does not hurt to type "prefer w/e role" in chat. Usually players will let you play that role unless they prefer that role as well. You should have a decent understanding and be able to play each role before doing ranked. Although most of the time you can probably focus and play primary two roles. In low elo support is generally open so I would make sure you know support if you do not get another role that you may prefer.

Currently, yes, you should be familiar with all roles as you may be forced to play any role in ranked.

However, with the new ranked position select (going live soon) you will be able to choose two roles before queuing up. This will allow you to play the roles you're best at.

Read this for more information on the new ranked select system: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/na/site/2016-season-update/new-champ-select.html

I will add that you should spend some time playing ALL roles. This will help you understand the game better and make you a better player in whatever roles you decide are your best roles. For example if you understand how jungle works, you may be able to play top better, and learn when to not push the lane because you want a gank (just one example of many)

You have 10 placement matches to play, which after will place you in a starting league and division. From there, you will either rank up or down from wins or losses. Once you get 100 Lp you will qualify for your series. Series are best 2 out of 3 between divisions i.e. silver 2 to silver 3. Series are best 3 out of 5 between Tiers I.E Silver to Gold. If you drop to 0 lp and lose another game (sometimes 2 but generally only 1) you will drop a division and start with 75lp in that division.

You can drop Tiers from continuously losing I.e. drop from Gold to silver or silver to bronze. However, this requires a lot of losing at division 5 of that tier.

When you join a ranked queue, it is draft. Each team bans 3 champions so that neither team can use them. After that stage each summoners picks a champ by himself and sometimes 2 people may pick at once. There are no mirror matches, you can "counter-pick" as you can see the champion they locked in. It is important you have at least some knowledge of each role as you choose your role in pick order. First pick means you choose the first role, second pick chooses the second role and so on.

People normally state their preferred roles so they know which role they are stronger at. You can sometimes ask nicely if you could have the specified role you want, but not all players will let you.

Ranked is optional and you do not have to play it.
