I just got the same problem. I decided to closed the client and then right clicked the desktop shortcut and clicked Run as Administrator and it worked. Hopefully it works for you!!

Now in a forced restart with a stagnant blank loading bar. Hey, at least somethin's happening :)

So I honestly don't know what to say about this, but I just left the game open for awhile and it suddenly started updating and working again. I am hoping this is a global fix and it means it'll work for all of you now or soon, too.

This is happening to me too. And I was actually already in the client and had just finished the third game in a row, when it wouldn't load the game invite or the play button. So I logged off to restart the client, then the "unable to log you in because you may be offline" message appeared. Restarting the client several times didn't work. The fix from last year (deleting the line in the file) didn't work either.
