im curious to see what most think the play level is at bronze 2+ is right now.. im climbing steadily but almost every game i have either a gold/plat teammate and those happen to be the games i don't lolking the other team.. (i prob should lolking everygame from now on) im assuming im having the same on the other team. what skill level do ya'll believe high bronze into silver is right now? personally i think its a mix of low/mid gold into high silver depending on ur luck with matchmaking.

Yeah id say B3 is about where B1 was and B2 is low silver. Was silver 4 and now playing games with bronze 2's and ones with the occasional 3s

I won 5/10 promotional games and got placed in bronze 2 (was Silver 5 last season). It's hard to judge my own skill level, but my friends and I are usually VS'ing against Gold or Plats in normals, and as of typing this i have more normal wins that losses.

Guess what I'm trying to say is, Ranked divisions arnt the most accurate representation of a player skill. Not saying its always wrong, just very open to interpretation

Everything is nearly sorted out, especially if they have 100+ games.

Gold last season or not, if you have played 100+ games in bronze and you are still there, odds are you belong there.

well since im still playing with and against plats.. i doubt its sorted out lol..

Its early in the season, ladder is fucked up right now due to "soft" reset. Give it about 2-3 months then ask this same question.

oh i know lol im just curious what ya'll think the actual skill level for those leagues are right now

Fair enough, had'nt considered that

There is a big skill difference in bronze. Early this morning I duo'd with some one I know irl for some norms (He has a very low mmr) and got mostly bronze 4 - silver IV players from last season. It was legitimately like playing against beginner bots when I was jungling. At least in comparison to my solo queues.

Bronze 1 - Silver 4 is the average skill range of the ranked league player base.

im not saying a general skill level lol. i mean where do you feel those divisions are right now since the reset.

Since it's still early in the season, I suspect that Bronze is still bronze, and silver is either bronze or silver. Gold is silver Plat can be either silver or gold or even bronze depending on how hard they trashed their MMR, though many Plat players are probably back around gold if they started at the beginning of the season. Diamond is probably around mid gold and up.

ehh i think you missed the point of the soft reset lol i have a masters friend who dropped all the way to silver 5 lol.. hes obviously already back to platish but there are still tons of high elo in bronze-gold

I'm just speaking generally. Sure, there's several anecdotal players that were diamond/master and are now silver. I think people underestimate preseason MMR. People start playing less seriously during preseason and tank their MMR so when reset rolls around they end up lower than their previous LP indicated.

Using my own anecdotal example, I ended the regular season in plat I, ended preseason with Diamond V. Started Season 6 plat V. Very fair if you ask me so I didn't jump on the boards and complain like some people. My roommate, ended the regular season in Diamond IV. Then he dicked around during preseason and tanked his MMR and started season 6 Gold III.

Then there were probably players in his games like "Wow, I'm gold and I'm playing with a guy with a diamond border. That must mean I'm diamond too." No, it means that there are still plat+ players climbing because they don't play a lot, tanked their MMR, started season late, etc. After this split of LCS, things will be more even and as they should be.

Rereading my post, it sounds more aggressive than I wanted it to be. Sorry about that lol.

I think people underestimate skill tiers. Bronze are humans too. Of course there's some toxic players in bronze, but still there are a lot of players that deserve that be several tiers higher that just aren't because either they don't play ranked or they don't play much.

true i play with a group that has 3 people who are all silver 5 mainly cus they never play ranked and weve always been grouped against full teams of diamonds and plats and we still win prob 60% of the games. so divisions arent a good representation of skill level. but what i mean with the soft reset and so many high elo being dropped so far what is bronze 1 really at this moment. cus its deff not bronze 1 lol

I can only speak from my limited experience.

I placed in Silver V (been gold V for past few seasons). Honestly my games since placement have been a breeze. I've only lost 2 and one of them I straight up dc'd at level 2 and couldn't reconnect. As someone who has only gotten to Gold IV at the highest I can tell you that I was absolutely stomping in Silver V and Silver III (I skipped Silver IV). Many of those player DID place into gold last season, but frankly the misplays in those games were so bronze I think that they need a whole new tier to describe it.

I should also note that part of the reason I've never gone higher than Gold IV is because I simply haven't invested the time. And my normals MMR is always Plat or higher. I'm not claiming to be good by any means, but climbing the ranked ladder is more about time invested than individual skill. And I have never ever placed lower than Silver V.

All of that said, the players I have played in low silver have consistently lacked mechanical skill or map awareness or meta knowledge or (most frequently) all three. I'm sure there are gold players who are bronze, but frankly they are their because they are playing at a bronze level this season. New Meta = new rules and many players climbed to gold simply from mechanical skill + fotm. They lack the map awareness and game knowledge to consistently play at a higher level in the new season. The more seasons a player has experienced the more capable they are at adjusting to new meta's. Considering that a high percentage of bronze - gold players are relatively new( I've been playing since beta) they lack the adaptability that more experienced players have.

TLDR There are higher level players who placed in bronze, but most of them deserve to be there because they have failed to adjust to the new meta/ new season.
