Clash tiers are TERRIBLE

Clash FAQ

"A Clash tournament is only competitive if you get to play against people of your skill level. " - RiotGames This quote is what they say but, i don't believe it. Me and my friends did Saturday and Sunday clash and got COMPLETELY DESTROYED each game. On Sunday both teams we fought had a Plat IV, the highest rank in our team was Silver IV. It was not even fair for us.

riot says they don't want smurfs in clash, then they put bronze/silvers vs plat. What is the difference between the 2 situations. The only one i can tell is we know the plat player is way better then us, but most smurfs make that vary clear before the 10 minute marker.

Did you check to see what the other ranks of the team were?

First game was 2 Silver III, 2 Gold IV, and a Plat IV, Second game was Silver I, silver III, Silver IV, a gold IV and a plat IV. My team was 2 Bronze II, a bronze I and 2 Silver IV.

the lower tiers are harder to do because starting from tier 3 you have mostly plats vs mostly plats, then mostly dia vs mostly dia and so on. But for tier 4 it is a jumble of bronze to golds with maybe a plat in there, i think they should seperate that by adding another tier for like high silvers and gold and then low silvers, bronzie and iron. But what makes that hard is that there isn't that huge of difference in skill between bronze and gold. the only problem for you're games was the plat player. but if they were paired in tier those 2 teams would have gotten clapped because plats and even the occasional diamonds would beat a silver team pretty hard

It's not even vaguely true that there isn't that huge of a skill difference between bronze and gold.

It's always interesting to see statements like this, because from the perspective of someone playing at higher rankings all bad winds up looking kinda the same I imagine. I sit at a measly gold 2 and have plenty of silver and bronze friends that I play with, and whenever I get matched in lane against someone who is silver, and worse if it's bronze, it's absurd how hard I wind up running away with a game.

There are noticeable and large skill differences between every tier. You will very quickly see it anytime you watch a gold vs silver, silver vs bronze, plat vs gold lane happen.

Just because you stomp on people from bronze - gold with seemingly the same amount of ease doesn't make those differences not exist.

Actually i don't play at a higher rank, you say measly gold 2 but im only plat 4, and i see no difference between my gold teammates and my plat teammates, almost all my friends are in lower ranks and when I play with them they don't play that different from me, some i would say play far better than I do. there is a difference in skill between each rank obviously but the reason they are so often paired together is because people at lower elo's lack a lot of the major macro skill that is necessary to compete with higher elo's. The only difference between them is the mechanics on the individual champions and the gradual increase in game knowledge.

I actually have a smurf in bronze rn, and that is because I am trying to learn how to play other roles other than jg at an elo that matches my skill in those roles. and the only difference between them and my plat teamates is the macro they lack. on individual mechanics I would say they are just as skilled , which is why i suggested to have a new tier separating them because in clash this works differently because macro is the most important skill, team comp is far more important than in solo-queue.

I probably should reworded because were talking about 2 different types of skill especially in relation to clash

i get that there is not a whole lot of difference between bronze and gold players, but it is still a dumb idea to have half of the players in tier 4, then 1 rank each for the other 3 tiers

Also when your lower in a tier, the people you get in your game are the ones doing promos, so they are just on the verge of being in that rank.
