Allowing teammates to ban your champ

I see every now and then a teammate banning the champion another teammate would like to play, even when they have declared that champ. This can create bad feelings from the very beginning of the game and in turn cause a loss for my team. Could this feature be changed to when a player wants to play as a certain character, they declare them very early on so that their teammates can't ban them?

For example, if I wanted to play Rengar, but my ADC did not want to play against a Rengar but they were first pick, they would first pick him for me and then I would pick Vayne and we'd switch. It seems like that would be a lot more team-ish.

Another example, if I wanted to play Support AP Singed with Smite (seriously, not trolling) I would lay that out at the very beginning of the game for my teammates so that they could not ban Singed. If they did not like this pick, they could dodge to save their time and lose a few LP.

Another one, if I queued for a ranked game but suddenly realized I forgot to feed my girlfriend's hamster and it is going to die if I don't go feed it in the next 30 minutes (and her house is several miles away) I might let my team know that I want to play as Teemo with Clarity and Cleanse so that someone dodges because I don't want to lose LP. In this situation, I hope that someone dodges, but if no one does, in the end I will of course.

One last example, if I queued for a ranked game but and realized I had something else to do but was in my promotion series for Plat 5 and REALLY didn't want to lose it, I just might let my team know that I want to play Support AP Singed with Smite (not as bad as Clarity Cleanse Teemo). In that situation, in the end I would still leave if no one else did because for one I don't have time to play and just now realized it and also I would lose much more LP.

I think a lot of the time people actually "troll" because their teammates ban their champ. Sure on some occasions someone actually wants to play ADC Fiddlesticks. But banning Fiddlesticks isn't going to help. They would just play ADC Zilean instead.

No. Bans are bans. What you are talking about is for organized teams to do, not pickup groups. Stop trying to force random to act like premades.

People would start trolling by indicating perma ban op champs then not picking them so enemy could have.

well you have over 100 champs there make sure you are good with a few to have more chances when picked or banned during draft or ranked , i know it sux when your own mate banns your champ by accident happens a lot with me too , but that means open your champ pool by more , it helps and make less conflicts during your champ select aight , not the best tip but still some help to progress

If your were gonna play singed support smite I'd ban singed too. It might work but your setting your ad campaign up for failure at that point.

This so much. I always troll when people deliberately ban my champ. I get this quite often as I currently main Kayle and I guess a lot of people have bad experiences with Kayle players feeding and I play her top so we also have those that want a tank top and will try to force me to do so by banning her out. I lock in Soraka every time these assholes do this.

This reminds me of a very recent incident where my team wanted a tank top. They didn't ban Kayle but they gave me a lot of shit for not wanting to pick a tank top and threatened to report me "when" I fed. I say "when" because in their minds it was going to happen. I gave them my reason for not wanting to go tank top. Wanna guess what happened next ? This team fed out their asses at a rate of over a kill per minute while I went 5-0. 5 fuckin 0, the only one on the team that didn't feed at all. Look, you can see for yourself. The support and the 1-8 Jinx were the ones giving me shit since champ select, telling me I didn't understand the meta and that I was shit and a %%%got and all that.

The TLDR of this is that I agree with OP in principle. I don't necessarily think preventing the banning of intents is the right way to go but it definitely needs to be looked at. I think a far better solution would be to allow players who have had their intent banned out by an ally to dodge with no penalties. The game I referenced in the previous paragraph is why this shit should be looked at. What the fuck gives you the right to dictate who should play what especially when you go 1 fuck 8 in lane. This is arrogance of the highest degree and it should be discouraged.

Banning champs another person on your team picks should not be allowed. It's petty and just causes problems from the start.

not gonna risk because my Yasuo is last pick and nobody else in my team has yasuo

then get trolled and lose the game

Either way I lose, but if he trolls than this community will have 1 less troll

I mean then as a support main if I wanted to troll, I'd just hover Yasuo or whoever is stupid OP at the time. Then not pick that champion.

Unless you are first pick, I am banning things like Yasuo regardless, sorry.
