Why did I even bother trying in my promos?

So last season I climbed all the way from Bronze V to Bronze I with the goal of getting into Silver. Unfortunately I was unable to do that before the season ended, however during my Season 6 provisionals I put a huge effort into winning and won 8/10 of my games this time around only to be put back into Bronze V. So I have to ask what was the point of even trying that hard?

And before I hear it's because my mmr is trash, I ended last season between 1000 - 1100 and after my 10 promo games my mmr is around 750.

Seems to me like I could've just tanked all 10 games and gotten the same result.

I feel you brotha. I hope i dont end up in that boat as well. I get put in B5 every year then climb to high silver, almost made it to gold once, then restart back at bronze 5 when the season ends lol

Everyone falls down so hard, but your mmr is in the sky now so you can easily climb out of bronze again.

In the sky? My mmr according to op.gg is 748. That's not sky high and looks to be standard for bronze 5.

Also if the plan was to lower everyone's mmr so they have to climb why not just do that instead of doing the provisional games. Would've certainly saved me a lot of time.

I know it doesn't mean much and being in bronze sucks, but silvers 200times more toxic then bronze. People think they are good because they are out of bronze and they all think they are faker. Silver-gold climb every season is horrible..

I understand having to climb and I get that everyone got bumped down from where they were last season, but in my case I feel like I wasted my time trying to win as many games as possible only to wind up at the bottom. why even make me do provisionals and instead just give me bronze 5 at the beginning? Least that way I could've spent those 10 games trying to salvage my mmr.

Well, the promos were more for golds/plats who got tanked into bronze/silver if they were unlucky/bad.

ask riot. they purposely placed everyone at a lower tier and division this year. (master and challenger players don't notice a drastic change because they have insane mmr).
