Another Patch No Nerf To Tanks..

For the love of god the state of tanks NEEDS to be looked at take Nasus Malphite Warwick Zac TahmKench Sejuani Maokai for example all of these champs building full tank deal an insane amount of damage for how durable they are. for example I have solo killed an 18/3 udyr with my 3/4 full tank Warwick without any technical skill involved, Nasus can 1v2 20 minutes into the game even if he gets completely shit on because of his crazy ult q buff, mao beats any ad champ top as soon as he gets ninja tabi and cinder.. I could go on but the point is if you are going to give these champions the ability to be harder to kill than any other class but then also giving them defensive scaling and %health damage ratios that results in comparable damage to non tank champions who are forced to choose between tackiness and damage stats the tanks who get both inherently have a large advantage(exp zac can kill most solo laners by himself in one combo once he gets cinderhulk). That is unless you are pigeon holed into playing some of the few carries that deal fucktons of % health damage to counter them KogMaw Vayne even then playing with/against tanks is a boring farm fest with these risk free champions that consistently have a large game inpact regardless of how they do in the early phases of the game. To make things worse all of these champs have crippling amounts of cc and a few even have sustain and %dmg reduction on top of all of that.

This all comes together to make tanks simply to strong relative to competing classes riot even advocated against getting rid of stat-check type of champions and yet tanks in their current state are just big balls of stats with lots of cc and guaranteed combos that make it so if you fall behind in lane you can be endlessly tower dived by an unkillable monster champ and their jungler with little counterplay options that can team fight more effectively and can do substantial damage.

My suggestion would be to simply reduce the damage these tanks can do by hitting their defensive scaling ratios in order to make them more in-line with other classes and have more meaningful trade offs when opting into pure tank stat lines.

Nasus is a Juggernaut, and Warwick is a Diver. Neither are tanks.

its literally just an arbitrary way to further classify champions typically those champions will build the same as tanks with one item deviation and absob more damage than anyone else on their team whether they're tanky juggernauts or tanky divers it makes no difference. What im saying is the principle that they can be so durable and hard to kill while still dealing out amounts of damage comparable to bruisers, or mages, or assasins who have to sacrifice survivability for damage or vice versa isnt good for the state of the game. This doesnt go for all tanks but i just think they need to be looked at tank zac can one shot carries tank malphite can do huge damage to carries and one shot if he gets abyssal mask so can warwick and nasus and sej with a cc combo all while still having far better defensive stats than most other champions

Fighters are bruisers, and Fighter has two subclasses; Juggernaut and Diver. Back when "bruiser" was a commonly used word champions like Garen and Darius were the spitting image of a bruiser, but now people are all mixed up about what that word means, which is why I stress people take the time to learn the new terms.

You're complaining about Nasus and Warwick having the capability of a bruiser, even while they are classic bruisers. Once the Fratmogs meta ended bruisers split, with some going tanky and some going glass cannon. People who don't know the history think only the glass cannon side are bruisers, which makes them both ignorant and wrong.

u realize that the semantics of riots class structure doesnt invalidate the point im making tho right... I get this post is getting downvoted so people dont necessarily agree with what im saying but I would be very shocked if most of the people in their own experience unless they are very low elo have not realized that these champs are op. Almost all of the tank junglers are pick/ban virtually every game for a reason. if riots definition of classic bruiser is having the potentioal to do as much damage as a carry role while being as tanky as a tank then yes im complaining about classic bruisers and if its not then they need to take a look at some of the champs i listed off as they fit those characteristics.

Bruisers were never a class though, it was a community term for tanky melee champs that deal damage.

You want less downvotes? Get your terms right.

if id said "damage comparable to fighters" it makes literally no difference im glad you've wasted time arguing a completely useless distinction between a term commonly used and riots overarching term for the exact same thing congratulations and whether nasus and warwick are separated from the tank class or not by definition it has not separated them from having the exact same issues present in the tank class and thus their inclusion in my list.

"You're complaining about Nasus and Warwick having the capability of a bruiser" im going to explain in the terms you want me to use for a minute to finally clarify what im saying so you can understand. Im not complaining about tanky champs having the capability of a bruiser im complaining that in general tanks at the moment are doing what fighters are supposed to do much better then they are while still bringing more defensive stats and utility to a team. In this case my other "tanks" nasus and warwick even cinder hulk jungle jax are simply very very over-performing fighters that land around the same power level as the broken tanks due to similar builds and kit characteristics.

If you said "damage comparable to fighters" you'd be saying just as useless a statement, because they are Fighters and have been since their introduction to League.

I'm not here to argue anything about Tanks. I really don't care for them at the moment, and even though I don't have that much difficulty shutting them down I know it's because of my champion pool and nothing more. Other people are not so lucky.

I constantly push for people to update their terms on here, because words like "bruiser" are horribly outdated. Bruiser covers three modern classes, Juggernauts, Divers, and Skirmishers, all of which have different balance requirements, planned weaknesses, and planned strengths. Mixing them up is bad enough, but then people mix up the champions from these classes that build defensive items, not understanding the difference between a "tanky build" and a "tank champion".

It's a lack of understanding that causes confusion, and that is why I posted in your thread. Back in season 2 Bruisers were the carries of League, and out performed all other classes. When their cheese got nerfed, along with a core set of items they used, true Tanks took over their role of a tanky lane bully because they have innate defenses built into their kits. Modern solo lane tanks are classic bruisers by definition, only with a little less damage and a little more utility.

Incorrect grouping of champions leads to incorrect conclusions, and not understanding the past gives you a shaky foundation when discussion the future. I honestly don't care about your opinion on true Tanks, which is why I'm trying to not touch it, but if you can't get something as simple as which champions actually are Tanks right maybe you should do some reading. It does make a difference, regardless of whether you care about it or not.

i havent played with conqueror on live nether have u its not out yet lockets not what makes tanks the strongest cinderhulk being nerfed is good aftershock cd increase is good but its a start its not enough to properly balance the class. It's so out of line right now in higher elo you have no idea if you dont have tank killer champs on your team you just lose and i dont think these small nerfs will change that enough

Didn't cinderhulk get nerfed this patch? Tanks lost around 100-150 hp (200-300 with stoneplate)

ya its coming in 8.5 so its definitly a good start but I really don't think its enough and looking at what they said for 8.6 it doesnt look like they have any other nerfs planned. Some of the champs I named are worse than others but sej ww zac are in most every game around p1 d5 and they are on a completely different level than non-tanky junglers if 100 to 150 health changes that then that's great but id be surprised
