Annie. Easy to farm with, easy to pick up, but with a satisfying decision making learning curve to go with her

Annie's a good pick, she's the basic nuking mage.

Ziggs is a good choice too, he'll teach you about always considering your range.

Veigar's also a really good option if you want to learn to value farm more.

Try Karma or Morgana. They are both straightforward and feel strong.

syndra (press R), kassadin, lux

Just because you got stomped by them, doesn't make Syndra or Kassadin easy to pick up and play. Theyre difficult, higher mechanics champions. Might as well suggest Yasuo and Zed; there's a REASON people feed on those guys.

Fizz , Annie , MasterYi , and Garen are the best champions for beginners to pick. Theyre strong, they're basic, and they work on pretty much every team. Blitzcrank and Soraka are good supports too, so it's always good to make sure you have runes set up for them when you eventually get stuck playing Support.

nah, i tried them out on my ranks game in s7 and the where easy to play and learn, syndra i just farmed and pressed R, kassadin is easy (think he was my second most played champ in s7) and lux (dont play her tho) but every lux i see just spam E and sometimes ult. that pretty simple

Brand is also a good choice.

Brand has some combo mechanics, long range and pretty simple play pattern but it also allows you to try different rotations.
