Is Shaco still viable?

I started yesterday, I'm level 8 and I want to play as Shaco, is he still viable? (Note i'm also thinking of Fiddlesticks, which is more noob friendly?) These are apparently "jungle" characters which seems complicated for me as I do not understand this mechanic too well and the various routes and bosses depending on your side, etc, it seems harder than laneing what is recommended? And how should I practice jungling (to familiarize myself with routes), against bots?

If you want to learn how to Shaco, I suggest checking out Shaclone and Pink Ward on youtube. Shaco is one of the most varied champs in play styles and tricks, you can learn a good number of them from those two people.

As Shaco can be played AP, AD, or Bruiser/Tank, there's a lot of variability in what you can do. Good luck, and happy clowning!

You're level 8. Don't worry about playing what's viable, play what's fun.

I'd start by learning jungle mechanics before learning harder jungle champs. Start out with Xin or Yi, and go from there. Easy champions will help you learn how to clear the jungle and gank, which is the basis for harder champs. The thing with Shaco is that he relies on an early lead in order to do well, and you'll have to further change your playstyle to suit that. If you'd like to learn a bit more about jungling, feel free to add me in-game.

Vi and Warwick are the two most "new player" friendly junglers in my opinion. They can be built tank, damage, or a hybrid and be very successful. Also at early levels Warwicks sustain makes his early clears very bearable without runes and masteries to bolster you.

for a new player i think you will have more fun playing someone like xin because hes more forgiving while learning. if you find that you like the jungle role maybe consider picking up shaco but he needs more understanding of the role and game because hes an assassin type champion who are more fragile by nature. also i wouldn't worry to much about jungling until you are about lvl 12, at that point you will have some mastery points, smite and maybe some armor runes which will all make it easier yo clear the jungle.

Shaco will always be viable. Fiddlesticks is definitely more noob-friendly, but Shaco is far more fun with much more outplay potential.

Jungling isn't any harder than laning. It requires a different set of skills and much less mechanical ability. I don't recommend you jungle at such a low level since you still need to learn laning mechanics such as last hitting/csing, trading, etc.

Shack is just barely viable, but only with a skilled player. He takes a lot of mindgame and out-thinking your opponents. Fiddle is easier but still tricky.

If you actually want to jungle, start with something straightforward like Xin.

Pssstttt I know this thread is like 2 days old, but I guess the more input the better :3

Tbh like many other people mentioned, basically any champion is viable depending on who plays them. I love Shaco because he has a relativity fast jungle camp clear, his q is basically a flash so running ignite and smite for first blood always is a good thing. And his ult is the most amazing thing in history...sorta xD

For fiddlesticks you always start on the side with blue buff ovo you uh...get a leash at froggie and smite it, goto blue buff and just drain it until it is done. Fiddlesticks is pretty straight forward;however, once he uses his q and e he is a squishy target so I would be careful.

If you are wanting to learn jungle routes then doing bots is fine, but the main point of Shaco is that his level 2 is very very strong. Depending on the enemy jungler, and you will have to learn about other junglers to do this, you will be able to counter jungler (take their jungle monsters) and kill them at their major buff :) or if you see the enemy midlander/top/bot pushed hard try to go gank that lane. Say you are going against an udyr, and you know that you will have to do a normal jungler clear. Place two boxes at Krugs( so when they spawn the boxes will attack the big krug) and you and to place two boxes at the enterance of red buff :) kill Krugs take a point in e goto red buff and e it and lure it to the boxes and have them tank it for you. And proceed to clear your jungle..... you have any other questions you can always ask me ,w,

The lack of ww in this thread is disturbing

Every champion can be viable, just play what you want. Shaco is a pure cheese champion, you basically troll your enemies until you win, so if that sounds like your kind of thing go for it.

Shaco's great if you don't want to have any friends.
