Is morganas E a spellsheild? Like seriously is it a spellsheild? Me and my friend are having an argument about this.

I would call it a spell shield since it negates spells effects until it times out or is broken.

I'm going to vote no. Spell shields such as Sivir's and Banshee's negate an ability, including the damage. Morgana's shield doesn't outright block an ability, only cc effects. For example, if you have Banshee's Veil and Veigar ults you, the shield blocks that ult no matter how fed Veigar is. With Morgana's shield, you might still die. It is really more similar to Olaf's ulti.

Edit: on the other hand, if you are hit by an ability that has both a cc and magic damage (such as another Morgana's Dark Binding or Taric's Dazzle), and that is damaging enough to break the Black Shield, the cc is still blocked. So it counts as a partial spellshield.

I'll back this up. It's more of a cc-shield. Calling it a spell-shield implies it negates the spell entirely. Which, it doesn't. It is, however, armor against spells and shield from their crowd controlling effects.

The term "spellshield" is not officially defined or anything like that. It depends on how you call it. For my part, I see Morganas Black Shield as "magic shield with CC immunity" and Sivirs/Nocturnes/Banshees things as "spellshields". But thats only me. Theres no right or wrong.
