I've always wondered if champs like

and 
are in a bad place because I rarely ever see them at all. I know 
is getting a rework soon, but what about the other champions who don't get played? Are they actually good, are they outdated, why does nobody play them?
Also sorry if this is in the wrong place. This is my first time asking a question on this site.
A few patches ago, karthus top had the highest winrate in toplane korea.
Skarner i feel like is still good. Imo those 3 champs aren't really played because they aren't as fun to alot of people.

Karthus riot thinks is in a very good spot. I tend to agree. He's just hard to play, but he's good.
Nunu... has a really really outdated kit, so sometime they're going to rr him I think.
Skarner was reworked a while ago. I don't think they were satisfied with that rr, and have stated that he needs more work.
That being said Nunu and Skarner can be viable. Skarner not so much right now since he has to farm a lot, and his pre 6 ganks are awful. Nunu has ok pre 6 ganks, and doesn't need to farm a ton I believe. Though, Nunu not having AoE clear really really hurts him in this season.
Basically if you can't AoE clear, and you cannot buy Tiamat, well you can't jungle without just being a detriment to your team. That said... I see a lot of Nunu's buy Tiamat even though all it does is add to their clear.
Karthus isn't played because it is too cancerous. Nunu is good at what he does(counter jungleing) but there just isnt a need for it in s7.
