Advice wanted! I want to switch roles, but I only know how to support
Before getting to the crux of the issue, some context is necessary. I started playing about six months ago. This is literally the first video game I've ever played, so I was unusually bad. While leveling up to 30, I duo'd with a smurfing mid-silver friend, and as one would expect, he tended to stomp noob games pretty hard. This dragged up his normal MMR (and mine by proxy), and I quickly ended up in games that were WAY above my skill level. People constantly accused me of inting (I wasn't), I was raged at every single game for being so bad, and it was an all-around miserable experience.
To escape my teammates' anger, I switched from top to support around level 25. I've basically been playing nothing but support ever since, and doing so has allowed me to improve mechanically and in general game knowledge because it's less stressful. I like support, but nobody wants to do the same thing all the time. I'd really like to branch out more, but whenever I try, it ends up a complete and utter disaster. I have absolutely no idea how to lane because I was so out-skilled while leveling up that I basically spent the whole time playing Grey Screen Simulator.
Does anyone have any advice for how to learn other roles, given this situation? Can you recommend what role is the easiest besides support? Also, do you have any champion recommendations? I'm not too proud to admit I need something face-roll easy with minimal dependence on skill-shots, because holy crap, I can't hit anything to save my life.
Still a support, but he gets farm. Pick up some off meta champions to play .
