Why don't you gain LP during pick/ban phase?

The leaver loses LP (understandable).

But I feel like the person doing the pick and ban should gain LP.

I feel like I disagree. Clicking 3 times is not worthy of gaining LP. Wasting 9 peoples' time by dodging, however, is worth losing LP. The LP penalty is as just that -- a penalty -- for dodging. No reward is deserved for picking/banning.

why should you gain LP for clicking 3 champions at random and that anyone could randomly get? there's a reason why dodging costs you LP

Are you saying that games are decided in champion select so it should just award LP to the team who picks the most overpowered champions?

The balance has never been that awful.

There is absolutely no reason to gain lp for champ select. What in champ select merits the reward of lp? The person banning just got lucky that they get to ban their hated picks, nothing more.
