4800 ip mage?

Xerath is one of my favorite champions and my go to mid laner. His range is immense considering it also comes with high damage output. The only issue is that everything is a skillshot so hitting mobile enemies can be a pain.

He plays mostly like a mobile artillery unit, positioning at a safe range but still close enough to strike out at enemies. If you are looking for someone who has high damage output and does not have to wade into the fray of battle Xerath is the perfect floating sarcophagus for you.

Ahri is in the meta right now if that matters to you.

I vote for Ahri since she is fun to play.

And she is the only one who has dash for gank escape.

Ahri has always been a solid choice; however, you have to be good with skill shots. Failure to land charms is a sure way to lose. A great point about her being mid is flash and her ultimate. Both make for excellent engage and disengage mechanics.

Brand does insane damage with his ult, you'll easily be a top damage done to champs and can destroy team fights. However, you need someone else to engage them.

I haven't played Cass/Swain.

Since you have Malzahar and Viktor, I feel like there are 2 good options:

1. Ahri - she is mobile while the ones you have aren't, so if you need a mobile champion she'll be your best bet. Gives you better variety. Downside: she's mobile unlike the ones you play, so perhaps you don't like mobile mages.

2. Brand - he's the most similar in playstyle to malz and viktor (loads of burst damage) whereas Cass is more sustained hypercarry type damage, and Swain is tanky. He's a lot like who you have already.

So the question is, do you want to do more of the same stuff on a different champion? Or do you want a different playstyle to supplement what you have already?
