Really Really Noobish question

Hey everyone, I had a really quick question about rank variations based on solo/team. We're all three B4 and want to rank up, so...

My buddy's and I are currently just running through ranked que's but we keep getting two randoms that have been costing us the game with not communicating or just being toxic. I was wondering if we created a 3's Twisted Treeline team, and got to say, Silver III, would that rank take over as the dominant rank when rewards come out, or would we still be identified as Bronze 4? I really want to get up and on to better ranks, I feel like my/our skills are well above what our ranks say and am tired of toxic people throwing games because they don't like us.

You have a rank based on all ranked games you play, whether it be 3v3 or 5v5. The way the LP is given changes for each, so it balances out in the long run. If you want to get up in ranks, then I really to suggest looking at a few videos or articles online.

I say this because you have to learn a few simple things about the game, that most people don't always fully understand, and you have to master them. In ranked, you can't depend on others to carry you; you have to carry yourself, and your friends if they choose to help you.

When it comes to a premade, it's best to use something like Skype or Curse chat to better communicate, but you have to really be in sync.

For those that aren't apart of your group; help them know everything about your plans and about whatever information about the game you can give them to help. (Summoner spells down, ultimates down, warded, etc.)

Otherwise, I'd say that practice and playing consecutively will get you into higher ranks. It might make you fall a few ranks first, since it can take a bit of time to get used to it, but you should have a better time overall.

Both. Keep in mind that things might be different this season because of the removal of ranked team 5v5 and addition of Dynamic Queue, but this is how things worked in previous seasons.

Every queue distributed ranked rewards independently (e.g. If you were Bronze Solo and Silver 3s, you'd get Bronze Solo rewards and Silver 3s rewards. No duplicated rewards obviously.).
Loading screen borders showed that specific rank while in that specific queue and highest rank everywhere else (e.g. Bronze Solo, Silver 3s. You'd have no border while playing SR, Silver border while playing ranked 3s, and Silver border everywhere else).
The little rank icon shown while hovering over yourself in Friends list, chatroom, etc. showed your current highest rank.

Also, the initial MMR/ranking for ranked teams is seeded based on your solo queue ratings. Afterwards, team MMR is separate from your individual MMR, so wins/losses in one queue won't affect you in the other queue.
