is luck a factor in league? o-o

so, recently i have been playing a lot with my friend. (i keep his name private for privacy reasons) And for odd reasons he thinks Luck is what makes the entire game. He was playing Jax against a Wukong, then suddenly the Aurelion made a perfect Tp from the bush to cut him off, then following up with a stun to finish him off. He blamed this all on luck, aswell as the time he got pulled by a blitz who shot his Q between 2 minions and hit my friend, then he proceeded to die. (my friend) Afterwords he reacted by blaming it all on luck. I said it was skill that he shot it between 2 minions, but he thought otherwise. Now, lets say a thresh took smite botlane, and he smited a minion then quickly reacted by shooting out his hook to take them by surprise where the minion would have been. He said that would be all skill, but yet he says the blitz pull isn't. Then i proceeded to tell him a story of when i got killed because a singed had 1% crit and beat me in a duel because of 1 crit... He followed up by saying that isn't luck. in my opinion, when it comes to luck the only luck in this game is crit chance, getting bad teamates, and hextech chests. (including mystery chests) I am interested on your guys opinions on this topic.

Gameplay is all about timing and reaction.

Ranking is all about luck, unless you're a premade 5v5. Because who the hell knows what kind of idiots or geniuses you'll end up with on your team?

Your friend sounds like he's not respecting the kits of his opponents, what cooldowns are up, nor their power spikes. Then, when he dies, blames it on something other than himself. He sounds like he's getting himself into these positions.

Your friend seems to be confused. Yes in a sense winning is luck, BUT your friend is applying it to the wrong situations. The only time luck is involved is who you get matched with. For example, your team has 3 smurfs and the enemy team has none. Your team curbs. You just lucked out you got 3 smurfs and the enemy had none. That TP and the hook you mentioned was them doing good mechanically and had good decision making. That isn't luck.
