Provisional Algorithm is Terrible

Let me first say I love this game and that I mainly play ranked... I was Gold 5, won 9 out of 10 of my provisional games and now I'm gold 3. I lost the 6th game out of the 10. Is this not crazy!? Why so little upward movement? Just because last year was bad doesn't mean you haven't improved. I feel like the average player doesn't stand a chance WHATSOEVER of making it to the higher tiers. I liked the idea of the new season you start over(maybe not completely over) and you actually have a shot at getting into a higher bracket to show people what you can do. This is how people get stuck in "elo hell".

Sorry Riot but my friends and I all think this is just crazy. And then to come out with a patch after the new season just starts!? haha!
