I just don't understand

If you're going to change all 4 abilities to be completely different for these reworks why not just make a new champion and balance what they have now? People grow attached to these characters and their gameplay and even invest money to support their love for it and then you just rework it and its not even the champion you used to love anymore. I guess for me personally, I just won't purchase anymore skins because I don't know if somewhere down the line a champion will just suddenly become a different champion that I don't enjoy playing.
