Guinsoo's Rageblade Attack Speed Issue

TyphoidLarry··55 votes·2,460 views

It feels extremely bad that after having the recurve bow (25% Attack Speed) and then upgrading the item you loose base stats. Rageblade should at least have 25% attack speed without any stacks. Of course you can balance out the remaining attack speed per stack to remain about the same fully stacked. Feels bad man.

Whoever made the new rageblade was an idiot. They could have just left the 25 AD from pickaxe, 40 AP from blasting wand, and 25% AS from the bow and it would be equally as balanced as it is now without stacks.

Instead they added 10 AD, 10 AP, and removed 25% AS, completely going against their policy that "items should not lose effects of components when upgraded".

RIP Zhonyas being a great AP tool, having less AP now than most early/mid items

People were pointing out how silly this was to Riot when the changes were announced, but Riot dug in their heels on the issue.

Now that it's pretty obvious that most Rageblade users are gimpy, I think Riot could stand to give Rageblade 26% base IAS and then just tweak down the stack value.

While I agree it needs something perhaps a different direction would be more interesting.

What if it instead of giving 25% bonus attack speed it instead increased base attack speed by 15% and then gave 4% for each stack?

This would make it clearly unique in the game being the only way to increase base attack speed which in turn would increase all bonus attack speed's effectiveness by 15%.

Increasing Base AS is something I've always thought Berserker's Greaves should do, to make them feel more interesting. I'm not sure if that would be too strong at the price point of T2 boots, though.

At any rate, making Rageblade do it wouldn't be a bad idea either. Would make it hilarious on Jax, among other things.

This iteration of Rageblade is just another shitty concept. They're trying to make the phantom-hit a mechanic, but the mechanic is so cancerous they gate it behind an item with the equivalent gold cost of Infinity Edge without as much return.

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

the item needs an another rework. right now its only good on vayne.

lol really?

You think any half decent Irelia or Yi player is buying this shitty item anymore?

MunchCrunchLunch2 votes

ikr. literally uselessness. yi and irelia kill enemiese before they even stack that shit up unless they are fighting a tank which they don't really need it then.

i can see yi buying trinity force instead next patch.

i get it on ap trynd :P

Don't forget about KogMaw. He is the one of the only champs i know who can reliably stack guinsoos

whats the difference between a half decent yi player and any other yi player? kappa

It's not even good on Vayne.

Yeah, I was scratching my head at that comment.

Rageblade is wasting a ton of stats on Vayne. Plenty of better options.

I would rather see Rageblade lose the Phantom Hit passive and have it focus more on being a hybrid core multiplicative item. Something like its OnHit dealing 15 physical (scales with AP) and 15 magical (scales with bonus AD).

Phantom Hit would make more sense on an item that is just a giant IAS stick (item 2015 item 1043 item 3101, maybe?)

What about KogMaw ?

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

kog maw has literally nothing else to buy. though the item change dropped his winrate by like 4%

personally i would build kog like this now

item 3146 item 3153 item 3085 item 3006 item 3091 item 3022

or maybe go back to the old trinity force build next patch when they change it.

It's not terrible on him, but it's not a first item rush anymore. I feel like Nashors may be better than Wit's End due to the AP scaling, but haven't actually compared them directly. The Mallet can easily be swapped out with whatever situational defense item may be needed as well, or even a Bloodthirster or Infinity Edge.

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

just tankiness that he needs from the mallet .or maybe a banshee veil. but the mr from wits end is appreciated

DarkRitual1 votes

item 3085 item 3006 item 3071 item 3142 item 3153 item 3053

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

your focusing on physical damage instead of on hit. which he does 55% ad on hit. its better to go on hi. i mean this isn't bad. but i'd rather go on hit.

DarkRitual1 votes

Spreading the Cleaver shred through Hurricane in teamfights definately is worth considering though. The bonus Health and CDR aren'y unwelcome either. His build has definately got a lot of work to figure out what may be best since the rageblade nerf. We'll see what the Koreans come up with, and then we'll know if Crit, On-hit, Straight AD, Full Hybrid, or some other concoction ends up being optimal.

Best Kog NA1 votes

If going for on hit you want to get a item 3042 by end game. The on hit effect alone is one of the best on hit effects on Kog'Maw.

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

As if he needs more mana issues

Best Kog NA1 votes

The 1000 mana helps a lot for those mana issues...

Best Kog NA1 votes

Usually the final build with kog looks like this: item 3124 item 3085 item 3042 item 3153 item 3006 item 3022 He is an ADC after all. He should be doing in the end game a large majority of physical damage. Kog centers around his w and his ult in teamfights late game. His W obviously helps a ton. And his ult helps pick off people who are running away. Since his ult has AD scaling you don't necessarily need to get as much AP as most people get. You just want to get those on hit effects that are so good on Kog'Maw.

Mhihnj1 votes

it's good on kog maw as well

items be like op waveclear 200% efficient , useless unless onhit god.

I want it to have flat mpen instead of AP

I just don't get why it got it's passive changed again. Why add that stupid phantom hit ffs?

4th3t0s1 votes

item 1004+item 1027=item 3070 no mana regen; but it fits the build path

Considering the cancerous shit that item caused before; deal with it

FourVsFive1 votes

That would be a pretty big buff though since you start out with 25% faster way of getting stacks, vses having to attack 3 times to get 24% ias.

Yes it would be a buff, reasonably warranted, but the main issue is that you loose baseline attack speed just because you finished the item. You are initially weaker with the item than just sitting with the components.

kaltenashes1 votes

What they should do is nerf it for ranged champs again

FKin guisoo vayne procs w in 2 aa after getting stacked, and yeah she builds another AS item to make it even easier
