I haven't seen the new Champ Select with my eyes, but there were no mention of THE ONE THING League is missing:

Tag Champs as Favorites.

You know that you're always searching for the champion that you like to play in champ select, browsing all over those you like less or even dislike. If we could, for say, in the Champions Tab in the Client, Add a Star in the Upper Right Corner of every champ, and tag them as favorite, and then afterwards, in champ select, either enter in the search bar Favorites or even have a different tab next to the Skins tab to only filter out the champions we love to play, that would be awesome!

Anyway, this is my suggestion for today. I've been wanting this since Season 3 :P

EDIT: as TehNACHO mentionned, another great option would be to implement Custom Labels for Champions, making it easier to sort them out. For say, I know that I love playing Braum, Tahm Kench and Soraka as supports, so by tagging them as "My Supports", it would work out as a favorite sorting, while also being role specific.

It could also work with your personal bans, etc.

Or not even favorites. Just custom tags in general.

I would love to be able to divide champions by the roles I am most comfortable with them.

I really wish they had this because I end up playing more games on champs I have no intention to master just because I see them scrolling and end up locking them in and regretting it.

Star next to them, and PUT THEM AT THE DAMN TOP OF THE SCREEN!

I just keep a list in Notepad or Evernote of my champion pool for each role.

After skimming the list and determining who I'm going to play, I will search their name and pick them.

It would be a nice option to have in-game though.

Well... I opened this thread with the hopes of reading that the one thing this game is missing is unlimited poor snacks, but I suppose this works.

I would have also said to favorite rune pages/mastery pages by the champion you select.

Doesn't have to be complicated. Just a star next to the ones you like to use for that character would be great. Especially now that the new mastery system overlaps more than the old one did.

I used the LoL Summoner Information (LSI) app for a while and among other things it could create custom champion groups, so you could search "fighter" and get all your fighters etc, fully editable too. Its funny how 3rd party apps can do things that riot cant, like this, replays and more.

Or even sorting the champion list by mastery level! Or what about showing a champ's mastery by a glow/recoloring of the champ icon box?

It would be something really needed for this game. I can't stand when I can't get my role so I have to quickly pick a champ.

Fun tip many people don't know about.

You can type a champion name in the search bar and use | to divide it and then type another champion.

EX) Malz|veig|naut

Malzahar Veigar Nautilus Will show up in the selection menu.

The | key is usually above the enter key as the shift mod for \

You know you can type in "Marksman" or "Tank" and it'll bring up all the champs with that as their main role? I'm not disagreeing with you, but just saying the tech is already there for custom searches, might be a little easier to implement.

I've been seeing this for years, and I guess it's just not a priority. It's one of those "Sure would be nice" things, but...Time and resources just seem to go elsewhere.

In the meantime, I'm using lists I type up myself and modify every patch cycle or so, which include a favorite champ for a role, an alternate in case I run into an unfavorable matchup for that champ (like, I typically play Karthus if I'm mid, but in case of Zed, break out Kayle or Lulu or someone else who is just a better fit against him), an "I got first pick" champ and six bans I think are appropriate, along with a "Learn these" to-do list for champs I don't feel very confident with but still wanna learn, too.

The above strategy is something I'm accustomed to using, but it's not exactly natural.

I would really love to see this in the future! Having to "Google" my favourite champion in the huge pool I have is horribly annoying.

well..thats a very good way to make ur favourite champs to get nerfed..it´s like Riot asking you this:What wore the champs u had more wins with?..that is a trap...because ur giving them answers to "who should i nerf?"

Great idea, it could be something like "Item Sets" menu, bur only for champs. Maybe it gonna come with season 6? Who knows...

There's a program that lets you customize the search results, I use it for high-tier champions and my mains for each role. It also saves replays, lets you customize the login screen, shows death recaps, AND lets you look up enemy information with the push of a button.
