Is this bad? (warning noob alert)

So I'm REALLY new to league of legends and I've been thinking is it bad that I'm really only playing assassins? Such as Kat Talon Yi (not sure if Pant is an assassin but I play him like one) and Ahri the only other champions I've really played are Rammus but everyone said he was bad :/ Rengar Garen and Soraka Ashe Sivir and that's really it but all the champions I'm actually semi good with are the assassins And I was thinking about trying Nasus for a tanky Champion and then I have Garen as my other tanky champ and I don't really know (I'm just a noob who wants to get better)

It really depends Assasins can be good but they're rather useless if they're not even or ahead, getting rid of the 'consistency' factor that tanks and mages are famous for. As an assasin you also need to be able to flank late, or else any good team with frontline will simply pop you in the mouth and collapse on you.

If you want to get better at mages and tanks while still maining assasins, I reccomend you play Divers and Mage/Assasin hybrids as they have a similar playstyle of flanking/getting into the backline and messing everyone up, good divers are Shyvana Camille Diana

what cardoma said. but I do recommend nasus. he gets +3 attack on his Q when he last his Q. so end game your a 600 damage beast with 0 attack items

If you're playing assassins because you enjoy selecting your target, waiting for your calculated opportunity, taking them down with the element of surprise, and escaping through wit or quick reflexes, then go right ahead.

If you're playing assassins because THE SICK DEEPS IM SO GOOD AT THIS GAME, then try to change your outlook or play a different class.

you're playing assassins right now because they're the only fun class. where you press 1-4 buttons and enemies disappear within 3-5 seconds of you entering their vision ring.

if you want a fun tanky champion that can do the same then you'll have to do some tweaking to certain champions builds to make a fighter into an assassin tank.

darius, garen, pantheon, olaf, tryndamere, renekton, nasus, etc.

if you want an assassin that you can use in support i recommend shaco or teemo.

marksman would be vayne or twitch.

ap based assassins are katarina fizz and ahri.

ad based assassins are zed, talon, and yasuo

when jungling with an assassin choose one that has mobility, an ability with some effect on monsters and minions, or can benefit from lifesteal. usually only physical damage champions can do that.

lee sin, xin zhao, rengar, and kha'zix make decent jungling assassins.

Pantheon is one of the top tier types when it comes to being the middle finger in the top lane or jungle to R in on a melee opponent in a lane and just use his point and click stun to damage blast you like a crazy nut'job, especially with his passive that lets him nullify the damage on a auto attack, which makes plenty of 'empowered auto type champions' could get screwed up alot in that regard.

Besides AP assassins(besides the bastard known as Ekko), alot of the AD Assassins (And the freakin ADCs who are exploiting it) are broken as heck because of lethality builds being on the rampage since flat armor pen and 60% up front 'lethality'[aka the old flat armor pen with a gimmick] with the remaining amount coming later in the levels allows alot of snowballing currently where its just cancerous just to try and fight enemies using it.

Ahri is technically one of the most stable type of AP champions as a 'Mobile Assassin/Mage' (Which i don't count Ekko as one, he's a annoying harass dicker champion who just uses R for EZ retarded escapes), so using her in the mid lane can never be wrong, though i just hope that all the 'haters' that are saying Ahri is too strong just because her win'rate is 'high', do not really understand that Ahri is one of the few champions who has not received a SINGLE change since patch 5.16.

Said change just being a nerf where her passive healing was changed to 3/5/9/18 from 2+level (aka 3~20), basically more of a random wtf passive changed. The 2nd change before that being in 5.3 and again mostly mana cost increase in Q, damage being lowered in W and R and W losing a whooping 100 in range for the projectile 'acquisition range'. Literally she has only had bug fixes for the rest of it up to now and 5.16 and bug fixes only between 5.16 and 5.13

As for MasterYi, he's pretty much the go'to rush'a'holic auto spazzer of jungle and a long time ago he was also pretty potent in middle lane too, but now too many 'mid types' with shenanigan kits are clogging his viabiity or pick'ability.

Ultimately, you'll want to play a variety of champions to not only understand how each playstyle is, but also what certain champions can offer in comparison to champions in the same role but do something different, which since we got the Tank update hopefully rolling in soon, we should get some more diverse 'tanks' and hopefully a heavy drop down on the damage they dish out, which should also hopefully create a useful stopper to snowball based champion teams with more tankie, disruptive based tanks being more present doing their job to deny champions who op for quick trades which even before this snowball meta, has been a very abusive things going on. Hopefully if it does happen then it should make new players like you have a much better time playing, if it properly forces teams to aim for a diverse build set then stacking a bunch of carries or stacking a bunch of tanks.
