Okay so I just want to post an idea on how to deal with AFK/Leavers

Okay I know that Riot has already came up with the Leaver-buster system but hear me out. I would say about 99.99% of us have been punished by the leaver-buster system, but I would say that most of the time it is for a good reason be it you have to leave for work, school, appointment, etc. and you said "Okay just one more game," I'm pretty sure we've all been there before. And you have a ridiculously long game, then you are forced to disconnect then your teammates hear that dreaded voice "A summoner has disconnected" and it hurts to lose a player in the middle of the game it also hurts the person that has to disconnect because they know that a soon as they hit the "Leave Game" button they will have to wait 20 eternal minutes then both sides suffer the consequences. But! I believe i have found a solution to that

So i've been thinking about this for a while and I said to myself "why not have an option to join to join a game that has already started" i know it might sound a little weird but here is how it can work and benefit us

It can be very useful because: say you know you will only have a little bit of time to play a game but you really want to so you can join a match that has already started and finish the game sooner so that way when a summoner leaves someone else can take their place! you might think that it might not be a good idea because they are using someone else's champion and they have already bought items that the other player is used to but this can benefit us because having a player player join late is better than having no player at all and it can also add some verity for example say someone just joined the match using a completely different build to a champ than what they are used to, it can benefit them because it can help them see an entirely different version of that champion and see the pros and cons to having those items, it can also help their decision making skills because they would have to think on how they can work with these items and what can compliment that build on the spot.

The way this could work would be that there would be a new option to be able to pick a match that has just started and it can tell you how many minutes they are into the game And of course the matches available to them are in their ELO, and according to what champions they are available for them to play (Or maybe all champs can be available to play)

This just my idea because i know how it feels to have to quit a match and have to wait 20 minutes to go into a game

This would never work, you get the items that the previous person bought? What if they went afk after 3 min and you didnt join until 20? you gonna wreck people with a dorans? you will most likely feed which is worse for the team. Also they can't just give you equal gold because that wouldn't be fair to the other team at all. Also enjoy the fact that most afk's are trolls and buy troll items before going afk and you join the game and start out with 3 pairs of boots.

Well I think that it would be better for someone to join a game really late than to have no one there at all for the entire game. About the feeding part, we have all seen someone who has left at the beginning of a game a come back like at 20 minutes into the game this is going to would be exactly like that so really it wouldn't be any different to the players and sometimes And I'm not entirely sure what you mean about having equal gold and not being fair for the other team.

No, we haven't all been there. I've been playing since season 1, never left a single game, never had any LeaveBuster warnings. The worst I had was one game where I had technical problems that prevented me from playing a full game, but even then I kept trying to reconnect and played for as much of the time between crashes that I could.

You won't get punished if you have to leave one game every few months. If you are getting punished, you're leaving repeatedly. Manage your time. Don't start playing when you know you're going to have to leave.

As for your suggestion, it's been proposed before. The biggest problem is how would you convince people to queue up to fill someone else's shoes in ranked? Especially considering that they have a higher-than-normal chance of losing. Would they risk losing a full game's LP? Or would their LP not be affected by these games? What reward would you offer instead? How would you find a player of equal skill to fill the shoes of the leaver, especially if very few players are queuing to fill because there is not enough motivation/reward to do so?
