Further Ryze work?

Hello, I'm a d4 (former) Ryze main on the EUW server. I, like many others are very disheartened with the way the latest Ryze rework left the champ. Ryze now feels very unsatisfying and simple, betraying his core identity.

This leads me to wonder if Ryze will receive more work during the pre-season where the balance team could perhaps have a dialogue with Ryze player and address some of their woes? I myself feel like there are a lot of directions that could be explored with Ryze without damaging his identity and without making his gameplay pattern less satisfying and still reducing his proplay priority. Finally a followup question is that, if Ryze once again becomes 90%+ p/b in this version, will you explore another direction or will you just nuke him like this time?
